That's why I'm at a 50/50 split. Kirby would definitely hold back until a good opponent knowing they'll out talent anyoneI mean I think Georgia has been sandbagging...but I personally always think "holding back" is a dumb gameplan especially early in the year...I'd want my guys to get reps doing what we want them to do as much as possible.
I'll take Heupel in a shootout anydayAnybody else mildly concerned the defense is leaky?
It’s athletic, but we’ve given up more points than I expected the first two weeks
Maybe that’s pace of play
Doesn’t change my outlook on the season but does make me think we may see some 45-42 shootouts down the road…

I'm done with this line of thinking. Timid QB play is why we scored less than 20 points in games last year. Throw that MF up and let your 5 star WR make a play. If it gets picked, they start on the 5 yard line. If it's caught, it's 6 points. Sling that rock Joey!Glad MM hauled that heave in. Please don’t do that next week Joey.
Exactly, a great team destroys lesser opponents while running base stuff, just like we did to Syracuse and ETSU. The most alarming thing if I'm an Georgia fan is that they could not impose their will and run all over Peay. I'm not saying they can't fix things teams do every year but it didn't look good last week.
I don't know that I would have a bigger worry as a Georgia fan than the fact they had 5 tries at the goal line and couldn't run on Austin Peay.Yeah, the Austin Peay game was nothing but bad for them. They should have been able to score that much on Austin Peay without throwing a pass.
Georgia is super talented so they may come out and play great against us, but they looked like absolute slaw last week.
Our defense has looked like that so far while completely emptying the bench in both games. What will it look like with the starters and normal player rotations playing a full game? Probably better. This defense appears better than 2021 and 2022, but not as good as 2024. It may be on par with 2023’s defense. That remains to be seen.
If our offense can be just like the 2021 offense, we can win 10 games again, even if the defense takes a slight step back from last season.
It looks like every throw he makes is almost side armed or 3/4. I've never seen him throw with an NFL motion.I didn’t realize John Mateer is basically the only offense OU has. He ran 19 times yesterday for 74 yards. The team rushed for 138 yards total. He will not last an entire season carrying the ball that often.
That's the kind of thing we used to say when Butch and Cornbred were coaching. "Oh, we must be saving the good plays/blitzes for tougher competition." Then we would get our backsides handed to us against tougher competition.Rusty Manswell said on pod yesterday that UrGA purposefully has held back defensively.
