"Holding back" is purely a fan thing. No coach tells his team to play half speed. The do play second or third string when the game is in hand and add wrinkles for each individual game plan , but holding back just doesn't happen. The coaches are not saying, "Alright boys we're gonna go out there and sandbag this week."I mean I think Georgia has been sandbagging...but I personally always think "holding back" is a dumb gameplan especially early in the year...I'd want my guys to get reps doing what we want them to do as much as possible.
Lol…I thought the same exact thing. I remember those days but am ready to completely forget them. Am well on my way…thanks Coach Heupel! That's the kind of thing we used to say when Butch and Cornbred were coaching. "Oh, we must be saving the good plays/blitzes for tougher competition." Then we would get our backsides handed to us against tougher competition.
I ain't a lick concerned how good our defense is when fully healthy. I am concerned we have some critical injuries in the interior d line and secondary. Those are the cause of the Syracuse points. Thankfully we had a game and a half to regroup and plan.Anybody else mildly concerned the defense is leaky?
It’s athletic, but we’ve given up more points than I expected the first two weeks
Maybe that’s pace of play
Doesn’t change my outlook on the season but does make me think we may see some 45-42 shootouts down the road…
Pajama Boy threw a pick at the wrong timeI missed the end of UCLA's game. what happened? I thought @Weezer jinxed them into a comeback win.
This idiot is criticizing his QB for having proper fundamentals.Georgia fan says Stockton is telegraphing where he's going with the ball.
"much has been made of his elongated throwing motion, but i don't think that's the issue. i think it's his feet. when he throws from the pocket, he seemingly always resets his feet towards his target, in a way that very much telegraphs where he's going. i'm not saying he needs to be trying stafford / mahomes style no-look passes, but it just looks methodicaly and predictable, he resets his feet directly towards the target before he unloads almost every time from the pocket.
not sure that can change in a week, but i think there's something to this. he's currently much better throwing on the roll out, just because he's a threat to run AND because he doesn't telegraph his pass in the same way.
anyway, watch that murray breakdown and see if you see what i mean on his feet. it's a big part of why austin peay was all over some of those WR screens and wheel routes, etc."
You push a decade in beating a team... I'm ok with it. Especially a when it's a program that you've just not been capable of computing with, while they've dominated the sport, more or less, the last half decade or so.The fact that some people still rushed the field when we beat bammer last year tells me that we probably will. We should not...but some will.
