Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

They say we are decimated. Will make their defeat more sweet

Ive said it in the past. Georgia has a strong tendency to play down. They've shown in past to be up for this game however, the moment no longer being too big for them. Neyland needs to be rocking.

If we can get behind their DB's we have a shot.

My head tells me we are too injured and will cost us a chance to beat UGA…

My heart tells me this is the year we end the streak and remember how injured we were for Bama in 2022.

Feels like it is destined
I think Heupel has had this game circled for a while. At home.

I think we’ve got a great shot.

@berryvol what you liking this week? I’m slow to it so far and have started with this — Lamb bet is risk free

How is this possible?

THIS.

I don’t think Saban left because of NIL, he could have raised that money had he stayed. I think it is the free transfer and play.

Saban made a legacy off of getting the best players and having them sticking around and waiting their turn because they didn’t want to sit a year because it delayed the NFL money.

Once the free transfer was here, he could not stack 3 5* at every position anymore.

If you have the NIL, you don't worry about transfers. You don't lose anyone you aren't willing to lose.

Nico & his family will never really get it...

The same frantic fanbase that treats you like family is also just as quick to turn on you. That's what SEC football is...and the wildest part is that we're such a large fanbase and so very active on SM that media that doesn't give 2 ***** about the Vols or Nico will continue to bring both up to the other for views and snippets they can share to get engagement.

Those California sports folks covering UCLA don't care at all about TN...hell most don't care about football if we're honest. But Nico in front of a hot mic? Yeah we know they'll mention something about the Vols to get his response.

Updated National Weather Service (NWS) forecast for the game on Saturday. I would bring some rain gear for this one. Hopefully the timing of the precipitation continues to move up with more activity in the morning. Still not a slam dunk that there is rain during the game, but it has been trending that way this week.

Curious what you use for the classic Mexican rice ingredients?

Well the authentic version would have more steps.

But in the rice cooker it's kind of a "throw it all in" approach.

Long Grain Rice (White or Jasmine)
Oil
Onion (finely chopped or powder)
Garlic (minced or powder)
Salt
Peppers (when making for family this gets left out cause they have zero spice tolerance)
Tomato Bouillon (the kind of secret weapon honestly)
Water (or chicken broth)

Depending on the rice cooker/portion the amounts vary. For my typical approach it's 1 cup of dry rice (using the cup that comes with the rice cooker, not a measuring cup) then fill liquid to the 1 in rice cooker itself. A good size spoonful of the Tomato Bouillon goes in, about a tablespoon of oil then the rest is to taste...

Oh those Cali folks. Still wild to me that there were so many empty seats for that opening UCLA game.

AP voters who left us off of their ballots.

Henry Greenstein - covers Kansas
Dylan Sinn - covers Notre Dame
Josh Furlong - covers Utah
Stephen Means - covers Ohio State
Kirk Kenney - covers San Diego State
Pete Yanity - covers Clemson
Kirk Bohls - covers Texas

Sinn voted one-loss ND #10
Furlong voted Utah #19
Yanity voted one-loss Clemson #9
Bohls voted one-loss Texas #8

AP poll is corrupt as hell.
Yanity has jmu and liberty in the top 25.
Sinn has usf and BAYLOR (lost to burn) in the top 25. $hit is crazy

Who you got? I think Florida and USC are strong contenders.

All I want for Christmas is for Alabubba to win 3 games this season, my only concern is that if that happened the reduction in fentanyl deaths would be eclipsed by Bammer suicides and I would need to seek medical attention.

Hell yeah. I was looking at Michigan on Monday as well as MSU and Kansas. Need to confirm my biases lol

The problem with NIL is that everyone can raise the $ now. Before NIL, Alabama was one of the few teams that could pay players and get away with it. I know “everyone” was doing it, but Bama had the #1 class every year or a top 3 class on an off year. Ole Miss landed a great recruiting class one year in 2013 and they got the hammer dropped on them. Alabama did it every year and they were squeaky clean I guess.

around 92k (as of now) seats at the Rose Bowl

They had 35k for the Utah game

Biggest home game last year was USC coming there, 59k showed up
2023 Colorado coming to town was the biggest crowd, 71k then (Deion effect)

They claim 2022 against USC was a sell out, but it was just below 71k then too...

It's bad bad...they fluff their announced attendance numbers too. They announced 35k against Utah, but actual was 27k so anything about the fanbase their spouted by Nico or his group is utter nonsense.

I am actually not worried about our injuries at all. We finally have real depth and guys that step up and might even keep the role when the injured come back.

Real talent!
Lack of quality depth on the interior DL is a bit unsettling and I think will prove to be our biggest weakness on D. Definitely not the same as last year.
