Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

In Florida's first game against LIU only two QB's played in the game for Florida. Lagway played the first half and freshman Trammell Jones played the entire 2nd half. It seems like Florida doesn't feel confident that Lagway will make it through the season and wanted to get Jones ready to take over if needed.

I think there’s a miscommunication here. He’s directly quoted as knowing for a fact that bama has less than $20 mil invested in NIL, and that other schools supposedly have between $40-50 mil invested. All I’m saying is that I don’t believe the discrepancy is that large. I do think this is just an excuse because that “S” that was on there chest peeled off pretty quick after Saban left.
Alabama is still recruiting at an elite level. They had the 3rd ranked class in the country last year. Of the top 5 players in their class (all top 100 players nationally), one was from Texas, one was from Pennsylvania, and three were from California. Anyone that wants me to believe that Alabama has half the NIL budget of the teams they’re recruiting against, also, by logical extension, wants me to believe that those dudes from TX, CA, and PA took half the money to go Tuscaloosa, AL of all places. Anyone peddling that crap is out of their damn mind.

Do you think there is a bigger risk in giving a coach too long or firing them too fast?
Biggest risk is making the wrong hire. . . then firing too late once you realize it, imo. Fire them now, deal with the backlash while you still have a decent roster. Don't burn it to the ground and try to rebuild from ashes.

Heard did not play well at times last year. He is playing elite now, so I believe it really was his injuries.
Yeah, injuries and conditioning + trying to learn the scheme. A few times he looked exhausted. Glad he's at full power now. Makes a big difference.

Really interested in how Davis looks. I'm expecting Trey Smith 2.0.

So let's pretend this is true. Will they get better this season?
As we well know "I don't ever post in this forum" is code for "check out this fan-fiction I just made up"

But to answer your question.. almost certainly yes. A team of talented players who aren't taking the game seriously is easier to fix than a team of players who aren't any good.

Just to be clear I'm using the word "fix" very loosely here. Even if Bama maintains the exact level of raw talent they have for an extended future, they will never sniff a championship with the current culture. But the best team Bama puts on the field this year will be a pretty damn good team, even if it is just one or two games.

AP voters who left us off of their ballots.

Henry Greenstein - covers Kansas
Dylan Sinn - covers Notre Dame
Josh Furlong - covers Utah
Stephen Means - covers Ohio State
Kirk Kenney - covers San Diego State
Pete Yanity - covers Clemson
Kirk Bohls - covers Texas

Sinn voted one-loss ND #10
Furlong voted Utah #19
Yanity voted one-loss Clemson #9
Bohls voted one-loss Texas #8

AP poll is corrupt as hell.

What’s the point of caring about the AP poll?

VfL Marlon Walls - on the sports source - said there is no use comparing anything Nico does this year because that team is so bad.
He did not say we couldn't laugh.
But he said he went to a better surrounding cast.😆🤣I don’t wish bad on him, what happens happens and that will tell everybody the deal. I know at game 1 Joey looked more confident and in sync with the system than Nico ever did. GBO

I got married at 19, she was 18. Been married going on 24 years this December with 2 adult children. I think a lot has to do with the maturity level of the individuals and how willing are they to communicate and problem solve with each other. Most of marriage is communication and problem solving.
Same, I was 19 she was 18
48 years in October 🙏🏻

Even if it's true to a certain extent, that "bama edge" is gonna get dull real quick under Deboer. Instead of paying top players less because they're bama, they're gonna have to pay more because it's Deboer.
