Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I’ve been to a game there where we lost a close one. It wasn’t loud. The loudest part of that stadium is the stupid arse rooster crow they do over the speakers.

Must be the design because it’s pretty open but watching the games on tv during their glory days it looked like it was rocking….especially when they kicked our ass when Hendon tore his ACL

That is plenty...the battlefield is nowhere near as spread out and complicated as the Battle of Chickamauga, which is really just part of a series of battles for Chattanooga....which I have heard some historians categorize as a whole as The Battle of Chattanooga. It was a sprawling affair....Gettysburg is not like that at all imo....it was very easy to visualize to me because you can see most of the battlefield

Uhmm...I just had a Mandela effect thing happen to me, I distinctly remember going into a room at the end of the Visitor Center museum tour and hearing Hal Holbrook recite the Gettysburg Address, I remember how moving it was....and I just Googled it and it says that it was Morgan Freeman that recited it in the documentary they show in the visitor center theater called "A new birth of freedom"...evidently I'm not the only one that has googled this...that crap freaks me out..🤯
there are some great youtube videos by Battlefield Historical Society on different battles..I have been to CBF countless times and easy to get confused and disoriented, but after watching the video, ahh it all makes sense now.
Shiloh is cool as it has dedicated radio tour to guide you as well on the progress of battle.

Illinois -2.5
Kansas/zou over 50.5
Cuse team total over 33.5
Arkansas -21.5

Still thinking on some others
Illinois is only a 2.5 pt favorite at an unranked Duke, yet they are ranked 11…11 spots in front of us??? Please make it make sense! We would wipe the floor with them about as bad as we did Syracuse.

Yeah why aren't they punished for struggling against VT?

I don't see a world where we struggle as much with them.
They were rewarded. They moved up more spots than we did, yet struggled mightily playing what was a worse team. I bet Syracuse beats VT by 20+.

Fantastic! Players only meeting after game 1! Things seem to be going very well in Tuscaloosa already. Hope they are falling apart come TSIO, and we put the final nail in the coffin with a 30+ point thrashing, capped off with pics of us smoking cigars in their stadium!

No no no!! College is 4 years! End of story! Quit changing what isn’t broken.
Yeah people don’t realize this really screws over kids trying to get schollies across both large and small schools and all sports in order to go to college and get a free education through sports. And of course Diego Pavia’s teammate is leading this smh. We already have not only redshirt but pretty lenient medical redshirt rules. They have plenty of time to play especially with the option to just switch teams every offseason now.

They’ve been dominating wrestling for a decade or more.

Wrestling is classified as a non-revenue sport at most NCAA Division I schools, meaning it typically generates far less income than expenses.

Penn State is a great wrestling school but I don't see them getting a Tennessee sized agreement. I could see them getting one better than the Nike deal they have.

Can't believe he was stupid enough to cheat to the point of risking his buyout. Absolute clown.
He didn’t understand that cheating with impunity was only really possible at bama because they had the sec and ncaa in their pocket.

Long term view is that he was the perfect coach to make the Tennessee leaders realize that they needed to hire an excellent AD and let him run the show.

It was a painful lesson for the Volunteer faithful. But at least it ended the horror show of kiffin/dooley/butch/pruitt. It could have continued in perpetuity if not for pruitt’s idiocy.

The one established coach that would probably take the Bama job and wouldn’t necessarily be over his head is Kiffin.

The big question would be if Alabama brass would want him.
Hahahaha
kiffin would screw bama up as badly as he did usc.
He’s a mediocre coach who is perfect for a mediocre program like ole miss. They have embraced all of his stupid antics. Eventually he will wear out his welcome there too.

Its a revenue sport at PSU, and they've put more wrestlers on World and Olympic teams than any other school by a mile since Cael has been there. Historically, Adidas was the primary wrestling brand but they've lost it in the last 8-10 years to a smaller brand called Rudis. Having Penn State in the fold and signing these future Olympians is huge for that sector of their brand and marketing.

If only UT would restart their highly successful wrestling program 🤷
