Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Originally a Midwest guy too...I'm still curious if he doesn't take a Big10 gig if the right opening comes up.

Iowa maybe? Iowa State (Big 12 though) if Campbell ever moved off...

What about a Cincinnati if they can Satterfield? They’re pretty committed for a B12 school and that conference is always wide open. Decent path to playoffs.

@butchna. @VolGee4

What's your thoughts on Micah trade? I believe it's a win for Cowboys...not this season but going forward...
Short term boom for Packers but long term issue ala Khalil Mack imo. For the Cowboys it’s always contingent on what they do with the cap flexibility and assets gleaned from the trade. Once again state that Stephen pays heed to scouting and has become masterful in convincing Jer that he has the same evaluations.

I agree, what I've read is that Eberflus is raving about the rookie DE from BC and Kneeland is making big strides in his second season at DE...

As much as I agree with your overall assessment of Dabo, this is one of those times I actually think it was a genius, solid coaching decision. He did his research and did what he could to get the advantage. If Heupel did this, we’d all be applauding and making fun of LSU. Now will it help? Probably not. But still, smart move.
It was not genius, LOL. I think it was ok. Dude was supposed to sit out and Clemson made the SEC aware. I still hope it bites Dabo in the ass.

I'm going to assuage your fears by explaining why I'm not afraid: Florida not only had to hire Napier (whom LSU evaluated and rejected) but they had to give him the sort of contract where it makes no financial sense to fire him early even if he disappoints considerably. And when they do fire him, they will be in a very similar situation as they were in previously. The UAA is a ridiculously corrupt organization with oversized power where the ex-AD Jeremy Foley is still pulling strings behind the scenes and the current AD is basically a figurehead who raises money and does little decision-making. No coach like Golesh or even Curt Cignetti would leave the situations they are in to coach at Florida. They don't even know who their president will be. A carefully selected appointee was rejected, I think by the State, and they are JUST trying to appoint an interim. I don't think anyone wants that job honestly. It's been empty since the Senator suddenly bolted amid corruption allegations.

The biggest detractor for decent coaches? Their NIL situation is still a mess and they have the stain of a current lawsuit naming the Head Coach as committing fraud promising a recruit money they knew they would never be able to pay him. DJ Lagway is getting big money from outside brands to play at Florida—not from their NIL Collective, and he's the only one with that sort of luxury. Every year Florida has lost guys they would have preferred to keep to the portal and disappointed fans with their portal haul.
Burn it down

Why? Dude did his crime he should do his time! Heck Boo literally missed workouts that were NOT mandatory and has had to work his butt off to get his spot back on the team. This dude got into a fight like a moron and than transferred hoping to get out of having to be held out for a half. By the way if the NCAA was worth a crap they would have done this themselves and not the SEC since it’s an NCAA rule that if you are ejected from a game you are suspended your next games first half EVEN if it’s a different season. Only ones that don’t have to worry about it are those that have no more eligibility.

Nah man. For years growing up it was Dad muting the TV and John Ward blasting. Then came Bob…
Now, my kids can finally relive the magic of TN Sports Radio.
I hear ya, I go back to the days when the games were hardly ever shown live and radio was it. But as Heup said, "nothing is bigger than the Power T." Not even Keith or Ward. WGWTFA.
