Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

That sounds like what is going on. It’s just so weird that the sod (placed over bare dirt) looked great for 3 months and then turned in a week. The weather didn’t really change much. Unusually cool Summer in Texas. It is in a shady area.

My wife thinks that every plant issue is not enough water. Regardless of grass, flower, tree or vegetable. Increasing the amount of water the area gets hasn’t helped at all.

Do you have any recommendations for treatment?

Signed,
Frustrated in Texas 😂
If the soil temps are cooler than normal that’s going to affect the root establishment of warm seasons grasses. In Tennessee this year the Bermuda and zoysia took some time to come out of dormancy since the weather was really cool in May. New sod is also temperamental since it’s a baby basically. When did you put the sod down? The shade may be an issue too. Full sun and lots of watering at first for new warm seasons grasses grass sod.

Was adding some context to the overall market and the idea that any OL developed would leave
I'm not really sure what context you are trying to add. I definitely mean you no ill and you have a right to whatever opinion you have. i just don't quite know what it is. We just had an example of the situation I described happen to Notre Dame benefitting us. Who do you figure has a bigger player budget between Notre Dame and Wisconsin?

The "Golesh to the SEC" talk continues to be extremely premature.

Golesh is 15-12 as a HC.

Sure, if he wins 10 or 11 games this year all bets are off. But he is on the radar of zero big time programs. Right now, he is an offensive guru that was ranked 41st in yards/game last year.

Hope he has a great year. But week one projecting is not easy. Georgia Tech was supposedly a playoff team after they beat FSU last year..

No problem at all it’s an interesting convo around those schools for sure.

But the context was not any OL they develop will leave. That’s why I gave those examples.

For instance we just had a WR we recruited out of HS and developed leave for an ACC school for more money. Who do you think has a bigger player budget between UT and FSU?

I do agree that many times the player will leave for more money, but not always.

Chas Nimrods will have more receiving yards and receptions in one year at South Florida then he had at Tennessee in 3 years. Yes, I know he probably RS his first season...

29 catches for 315 yards and 1 TD while here...

3 catches for 96 yards and 0 TDs so far...I think he's at the right level of competition for his skillset and hope he does have a good year.

Season Stat predictions for fun!

Leading Passer: Joey Aguilar 2800 Yards 25 TDs 10 Ints
Leading Rusher: DeSean Bishop 1036 Yards 12 TDs
Leading WR: Mike Matthews 799 Yards 6 TDS
Leader in Sacks: Joshua Josephs 6 sacks
Leader in INTs: Colton Hood 3 Ints

Passer: over
Rusher: not sure if one guy hits 1k...but think 3 guys could be at 500 or better
WR: YDs I like Matthes as well, receptions thinking a TE (Miles would be the early pick)
Sacks: Over
INTs: Over (and I think McCoy might be the guy...could see him having a 2 pick game at some point when back to 100%)

Please say a prayer for my big buddy Bear, he's done something to his right front paw, we noticed bringing him in for dinner yesterday, found some blood and it's really tender, limping heavily. He didn't even really want his dinner.

And for an active dog with a job guarding livestock he's doing his best but he's really uncomfortable/hurting. Called the vet this morning and we have an appointment tomorrow afternoon. This is my best friend in the world, never bonded with a dog like I have with him before, I swear it's like he reads my mind, Wish him luck!

Update:

He actually got worse, stopped wanting to walk at all. Didn't eat for a couple of days, has to bribe him with burgers and bologna to take his medicine. I was starting to get really worried, but he ate last night. And this morning his limp was significantly better. Seems like he feels better.

This awesome. Hope all these RB's ball out this week.

Man...Weigels punches way over their weight with their creative marketing department..I don't know if it is in house or outsourced to a marketing firm, but they do quality work whoever it is.

We have rushed for over 2500 in each of the past 3 years. Pretty safe bet we will have a 1000 rusher.

Year 1: Small 796, Hooker 616, Evans 525
Year 2: Wright 875, Small 734, Hooker 430, Sampson 397
Year 3: Wright 1013, Sampson 604, Small 475
Year 4: Sampson 1491, Bishop 455, Nico 358, Peyton 339

4 years under Heupel and it's only happened twice, you can put up rushing yards by committee...we've actually done that more often than a featured guy (like Dylan last season)
