Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Keep your invasive cat indoors next time, it's doing far more damage to the ecosystem than a native grey fox. A grey fox is not going to take a housecat. Its far more likely a coyote or red fox did.

BTW, what you did was legitimately illegal. The fox wasn't an immediate threat and did not show any signs or symptoms of rabies, and was not in the process of raiding a chicken coop. Therefore, it's still in a protected status unless you get explicit approval from a game warden to shoot them on-site on your property. Grey foxes are not considered a nuisance species and can only be taken during the furbearer season with a hunting license.

It's always the red heads.

We must have watched different games. If he hadn’t have played and they ran the ball, they would have won. His turnovers killed them. And a lot of yards came at the end when they let him get yards cause it was over. They let him have short throws. Numerous sacks, fumble, and INT for pick six.

He didn't throw a pick six and only had one fumble, although ND scored the next play after taking over on Georgia's 13 because of that sack/fumble.

But their offense with Gunner was complete ass.

I'm willing to come back and say I was wrong about Stockton if he is horrible this season but if he isn't are the ones on here willing to say the same. That they were wrong?

Yep. They had zero chance with him against Notre Dame. Night and day team from when we played UGA. They probably don't score a TD against us last year if we had been able to knock sid from ice age out.

That is not even counting the open receivers he didn't see or was late on the right throw.
Every freaking game...people were giving the WRs heck about "separation"...Nico would often throw to the guy with tight double coverage while another guy is running wide open with nobody within 5 yards of him...most times he would lock in and start to throw to that guy with double coverage, and then eat it and take a sack or a no gain because it was too late to look for the wide ass open guys.

TIFWIW, UGA fans are pretty excited about Stockton. Local kid, 4*, broke Trevor Lawrence’s high school passing records, lunch pail guy, tough, can run, drives an old F150…..but they are dumb UGA fans.

I thought Stockton looked pretty rough in the ND game. Tough spot, though. Still, with the talent UGA has, he only has to be serviceable. UGA made Fromm and Bennett look good.

I dunno. I hate Georgia.

Love the Manning family....I 100% think the opposite of "go here" was happening for them.

I don't think he was likely coming to TN or Ole Miss...every other spot likely an option, Texas made a lot of sense and I'm just happy he didn't pick Bama.
wherever coach cut is. That’s where a manning will be.

If we lose to Georgia it won't be because Gunner Stockton lit us up.

That game comes down to Heupel's offense vs Kirby's defense. Kirby seems to prefer game manager QB types, hasn't recruited a top 100 overall QB but 4 times while there, and Brock was the last one in the 2021 class.

And Jake Fromm of the 4 top 100 guys he did recruit is also the only one to finish his career at Georgia.

Ty Simpson has already appeared in 16 games and been at Bama for 3 seasons with 2 Head Coaches. The fact he sat behind Milroe 2 of those years is very telling to me.

I get that. He sat behind a guy drafted in the 3rd round. Milroe was limited as a passer but he did rush for 700+ yards last season and 20 TDs which is crazy.

I don’t even think Simpson will be awesome. I’m just not on the Lagway bandwagon.

Ouch....

Since 1972 we've won in Gainesville twice... 2003 and 2001.
Won in Gainesville in 1953, 1955, 1971, 2001, 2003. That's it. We beat them in Tampa or Jacksonville and another thing our fanbase gets wrong is our bad luck against them really goes back further than the 90's. 13-32 since Neyland left. 9-0 before.

4-6 against them between 1953 and 1990 when we started playing them every year. SEC champ Vols lost to them in the Gator bowl, then lost Dickey. Lost to them four times in a row, 76' 77' 84' 85', before the 1990 butt whipping we gave them.

May Aguilar exercise the demons please.

Year 1 under Heupel, highlighted are the guys that had any previous production going into that season.

Tillman entered 2021 with 8 career catches
Hyatt a true freshman
Payton in 2 years at Miss State had 28 catches

Gotta get the WR room healthy though, totally agree with that. But for most WRs this offense is just catching the ball on wide open routes. If you learn the routes and catch the ball you can put up huge numbers. I also think we see Ethan Davis a lot more in WR routes...

I'm fully anticipating early in the year we see mostly 2 WR, 2 TE, 1 RB sets.
Hyatt played in 2020, had a td vs bama

It doesn’t mean they can’t stay healthy brother. Not sure what’s hard to understand here
Stayley and Matthews both were injured last season at points too. Idk what’s so hard to understand the fact that if a player misses more than 3 consecutive practices, it’s definitely more than load management

Jake Fromm was the 44th ranked overall player in his class, bad example.

I'm not sure if Stockton will be good or not...but against Kirby it comes down to if he can stop our offense or not. Heupel made a smart hire with Banks and the defense is in great/elite territory every year now. So if the offense can move the ball and score we shouldn't be losing any games.

3 losses last year, didn't score 20 points in any of them. Undefeated when we scored 20.
4 losses in '23, didn't score 21 point in any of them. Undefeated when we scored 21.
2 losses in '22, had 2 losses, scored 13 against Georgia and 38 against South Carolina...we all know Beamer cheated

2021 was year 1 and the defense wasn't great yet...still though only 2 of those losses did we score over 28 points Pitt was game 2 and Purdue we got hosed by officials.

Year 1 gave up 30 points 7 times
Year 2 gave up 30 points 3 times (one being Beamer Cheater)
Year 3 gave up 30 points 3 times (Georgia, at Mizzou, at Bama)
Year 4 gave up 30 points 2 times (at Georgia, at Ohio State)

Yes, I so want us to go on a long run of wins against my most hated rival....'da Gators'...'Go Gators...Give em a Go'. 🤮

I think Nico's biggest flaw was not being on time. He threw to the right receiver too late a million times. It drove me crazy listening to people talk about Nico throwing into tight windows, he made the tight windows. A lot of times the receiver was wide open and Nico would hold the ball too long and give the defender a chance to make up the ground.
How many times did we watch Hooker hit wide open receivers? He made his job a lot easier by delivering the ball on time.

I don’t get this. Beat the three scrubs, Syracuse, Vandy, and Ky and that’s 6. Should be favorites against Miss St and Ark, that’s 8.

That means of UGA, Bama, Ok, and Florida they have us 0-4.

Ok at home is the best chance for a win followed by Florida at the swamp. I would think a more accurate prediction would be 9-3. 10-2 would be homerish and 8-4 seems unlikely.

Wayyyyyy too much stock being put in Nico leaving. It’s as if they think that’s all we had and he was some world beater last year.
The national media talking heads don‘t SEE what Tennessee fans SAW all last year. That we won in spite of Nico. He left TDs all over the field in multiple games and missed a wide open receiver in the back of the end zone against Arkansas 😡
Will we have a better season this year than last year🤷🏼‍♂️ but I for one will not miss the “master of the deep throw”😵‍💫
