Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I had AI to break this post down.

This post is from Dave Bartoo, also known as CFBMatrix, who does advanced analytics for college football. Here’s what it means:

EOS Ranks

EOS = End of Season.

These are projected end of season rankings for 2025, based on his model.

The Ranking Method

He uses a hybrid system that combines:

High School recruiting rankings (HS).

Transfer portal player rankings (Portal).

Then he adjusts those for team schedules (who they play and how tough it is).

The Rankings Shown

1. Ohio State

2. Oregon

3. Miami

4. Texas Tech

5. Texas

6. Notre Dame

7. Penn State

8. North Carolina

9. Georgia

10. Alabama

So, according to his model, those 10 are expected to be the strongest teams relative to their schedules in 2025.

Key Notes

He points out that No. 1 (Ohio State) and No. 3 (Miami) were the teams in his championship game projection last year, which gives some credibility to the model.

At the end, when he says “My NC pool tier teams all here too”, NC = National Championship. He is saying that all the teams he sees as capable of making the championship pool are included in this top 10 list.

In short, this is a projected power ranking for the 2025 college football season, based on recruiting, transfers, and schedule strength, not just preseason polls or hype.

Nice try Sally.

somehow Auburn has better SEC title odds than we do. The disrespect for Heup, our coaches and our roster is immense and lazy.

Even listening to Josh Pate. His "model" has most likely outcome 7-5 and worst case 4-8! I think he has said we'd be 8-4 9-3 though. You can tell he and others haven't even inquired about what ppl are seeing in camp because they all think we will have struggles at the LOS, when everyone that has seen practice says we look elite.
Of all these talking talking heads, very and I mean very few have any clue at all. They are ball and score board watchers and they can google stats. A when watching a game on the tv, it never fails that I will make a comment about the game and the announcer will say the exact same thing 10 seconds later. My wife will say. "I thought you say he was an idiot, he thinks just like you." I say, "He is an idiot but he has someone who understand a little about the game talking in his ear the whole game but that dude is probably to ugly for tv."

Good teammate doesn’t always equal good leader. Nico may not have been toxic and got along well with the team, but he definitely didn’t strike me as having leadership qualities like rallying the team, leading at workouts, etc
We’re a better team without Nico and with Aguilar. Aguilar is a fighter and motivates his guys. Nico was a statue and me guy. Without Sampson, our offense would have been bad last year. Need some health at wide out and we will be better than last year. I expect to see a lot more talking and swag this year but that doesn’t bother me at all.

When they can't pack the stadium due to "the price of success", then what happens? Did you read my comment about SEC games being pay per view only? It sounds crazy now but I can see that coming down the pike too. If nothing changes with NIL and these coaching salaries, then I can see it happening in 5 years. Would you have thought 10 years ago, we'd have college QBs making $6+ million a year? Something has to be done to or college football will die. We'll have a minor league for the NFL with 32 teams or so and then a bunch of "mid majors".

*y'all can bookmark this post too
It won’t happen because the small amount of people that would pay that price would cause them to lose tons of revenue.

For PPV, it has largely proven itself as a failed model with its near complete disappearance in recent/coming years.

That’s embarrassing lol
Hopefully they are the first ones snubbed by weak scheduling
I don’t like their coach or anything to do with that dump of a school
guy cant beat a ranked opponent but talks like he has accomplished as much as Saban.

im with ya, that dude is the worst.

I need some VN help. The photos that I take with my iPhone 16 pro are too big to post on VN.

Does anyone know how to make the picture file smaller? I am a simple man and need a simple explanation 😂
Take your iPhone. Throw it in the trash. Buy a Samsung.

Eric Cain said it best the other day that none of the national media knows this team like we do. Surface level takes are abundant for our team but that’s to their detriment not ours.

Josh Pate is a fool and a sycophant. Makes me sick to listen to him fawn over talking to Kirby or Dan Lanning. He’s a sellout and doesn’t know our team at all.

Josh pate is a hard listen for me. I can do a few minutes and I’m done. To me, he’s too much fluff in what he is saying

I think Pate goes deeper into the weeds than other national pundits. Volquest football, basketball and baseball coverage is the best around imo
