We went to an indigo farm winter before last. The color of the blooms on the plant are purplish (that photo is from the internet).

But the dye is obtained from the leaves. The resulting dye and the dyed materials are blue. They can change how dark the result is by the amount of time they leave it in the dye.

The shirt I bought had been twice dyed and is a dark blue.

Anyone else been watching the 2-part Billy Joel documentary?

Never been a huge fan personally, but I'm turning the corner. Just seems like a regular guy wanting to write about the common human experience through music. And his family history in Germany was absolutely fascinating, but awful. Sad he could never kick his demons either.

Now jumping into the Yacht Rock documentary. Absolutely love the "genre", ever since seeing Steely Dan in the California desert 10 years ago. Still a top-5 show of my life and I've probably been to ~800 in my 16 years of serious concertgoing. They absolutely blew us away, so crisp and perfect, even in their later years.

800?!? Wow.

Was really hoping the veteran would come in and run away with the job. Not due to any bias, except he has a legit amount of experience.

Trying not to, but feeling a bit concerned this close to the season between QB and WRs.

Feels like another year of hoping the defense and run game can absolutely dominate. But coming off the greatest single-player rushing season in UT history and giving up the fewest PPG on defense since 1999 (quarter of a century!) this feels like such a huge ask.

Hopefully the X factors can fill in the gaps (and ofc the QB/WRs land well beyond expectations!)

Well which is it? 9/10 or dropping every pass?

Tbf a festival or two a year gets you 20-30 shows/year off the bat.

Outside of that, we probably average 2 concerts a month. Nothing too crazy and sometimes we get burnt out if we go to too many in a row. My wife also posters for The Orange Peel, so we get 2 free tix/mo just for walking around downtown Asheville for 30 mins a month. With ticket prices these days, it's a real steal. Used to do the same for the Tennessee Theater/Bijou when we lived in Knoxville. Definitely worth it if it's convenient and you'll go to at least 1 show a month.

We had tickets to see Billy Joel play with Stevie Nicks this fall, but, alas, his illness struck. Steely Dan was one of my fave bands back in college days. Call me Kid Charlemagne. 😂 We saw them open for the Eagles 2 years ago. Nothing left of the original band(s) except Donald Fagen, but I loved seeing him. Walter Becker would have still been there when you saw them. The Eagles were amazing.

I took you more as a "Breathe Carolina" or "3OH!3" fan. . .
