I did, too, but as my kids continue to enjoy watching the games with me, I will continue to watch. My dad did it with me (not just UT). He took me to see BC at Notre Dame and Memphis at Michigan when I was a teenager. Different times, but the connection makes memories.I liked football better when all it took to have top players was a SS Camaro from Beaty Chevrolet and a few hand$hakes or free tacos. Handing out millions and subsequently having ticket prices increasing exponentially for some nincompoop and his fatass dad leave cause the millions they got wasn’t enough just doesn’t make for fairness.
We’re paying for an uncapped arms race, not necessarily production. Full-time free agency too. This is the worst pro model anyone could dream up. It’s creating a bubble and I’m not going to be sad to see it burst.
Maybe some others too, but LSU has made losing opening games an art form. They'll be looking for a new head coach again soon.
Justin Worley played high school ball at an extremely high level. Not everyone makes the jump at QBEvery elite 11 QB prospect is a 7 on 7 phenom.
Im over Nico. Im ready to rock with JA. But Nico played normal high school football and did it at a high level. I dont really understand 7 on 7 but every top rated QB, WR, and DB are participating in 7 on 7
Best part of watching the game at home is I decide who I watch it with. Caustic fans who constantly criticize the coaches and players has really lowered my desire to attend games.Gotta love fans that want it all. They want to win at a high level, they want a brand new baseball stadium to keep Tony, they want to get the highest level of recruits to commit to us in football….the list goes on. And they want it all for the same price pre-NIL and back when Dooley was the coach and no one attend games.
I know it sucks, and I’m sure some will just call me a sheep for “Danny Dimes” but I just don’t know what the answer is when the cost of everything to compete is the increasing.
The good news is you can get like a 65” OLED TV and surround sound for dirt cheap these days and your home theater experience will likely be better than going to the game and at a fraction of the price lol.
I blame @SugarCC for dragging this guy over here from wherever the he!! he did. Sorry sugar, let’s be more mindful of where we pick of strays.I’ll save you the time of having to suffer my posts.
AgreedI do think the scheme is an important part of what makes the offense go, especially in 2022. Spreading the field vertically and horizontally, having fast WRs (or at least one burner with great hands), and having an accurate QB who can hit deep balls is basically impossible to consistently defend unless you have an elite pass rush and elite DBs. That's how UGA held us in check in 2022.
But Heupel doesn't have to have all of those to win, as evidenced in 23 and 24. And to me, what he did those seasons basically on the fly is the most impressive thing he has done at UT. More than all of 2022. His offense didn't work and he adapted and still won games. Many, many coaches would have fallen apart or insisted on making their scheme work.
