Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

For everyone complaining about ticket prices, unfortunately that is the price literally of success. I remember the days buying tickets at half face value a week before the game because we were going to lose. I like winning better.
This. I can tell who was not paying to travel when we sucked. Lol 😆

Do any of y'all remember all the posts about how going to a game wasn't even worth it anymore? With the widescreens at home and the amenities. Lol it was so many posts back then on why buying tickets was overrated. Dirt cheap seats back then too. Lol 😆

FTR as a frugal guy the price of everything hurts me these days. A night out is 150 easy now. That would have been a whole weekend budget a few years ago .

How about another tweet by our awesome AD to people that have had season tickets for years are unable to renew because of money..... "Oh, that's unfortunate. We are deeply sorry that you can no longer afford to go to the games. Well good news... you can still support the BIG ORANGE by contributing to the NIL fund. By the way, we inked a huge streaming contract with ESPN and our SEC games will be pay per view only. I love you, VOL Family. GO VOLS. XOXO. ❤️ Danny!!!"

College football is broken. It cannot survive like this.

It’s basic supply and demand. As Danny stated there is a backlog of people on a waiting list willing to pay if you aren’t.

When are they going to get the stupid mfing slogans out of the endzone in the NFL? I sincerely don't care what it is. WE ARE PLAYING FOOTBALL.

"It takes all of us"

To do what??? To make ambiguous meaningless purposeless EYE SORE political statements?
I think they put it there just to make you mad.

When they can't pack the stadium due to "the price of success", then what happens? Did you read my comment about SEC games being pay per view only? It sounds crazy now but I can see that coming down the pike too. If nothing changes with NIL and these coaching salaries, then I can see it happening in 5 years. Would you have thought 10 years ago, we'd have college QBs making $6+ million a year? Something has to be done to or college football will die. We'll have a minor league for the NFL with 32 teams or so and then a bunch of "mid majors".

Or telling grown men what they should wear 👀
Well to be clear, I certainly didn’t say they couldn’t. Clearly no control over that.

So allow me to re-state it thusly:

I think it’s kinda effin weird for a grown man to wear the jersey of another man. You’re not 13 anymore.

I understand why fans get upset about price increases, but the pure hatred a large portion of the fanbase has for “Danny Dimes” will always seem crazy to me. College athletics changed forever the moment NIL became a thing, and Danny is only doing what he can to keep us competitive. Winning isn’t cheap. If we start losing on a grand scale, prices will adjust some because interest will drop.

The shifting landscape of college sports also doesn’t even take into account that just every single thing is increasing in price year over year. So, regardless of success, why wouldn’t luxury items like attending a football game increase as well? You don’t have to like it, I don’t. It sucks that a family of 4 has to take out a mortgage to go to a football game. I just don’t think this is something that the evil “Danny Dimes” is doing because he hates the fans. It’s just kind of how things are in the era of NIL and inflation.

Ok yall, for the ones that have Facebook and have literally 10sec. If you don't care to click the link and click the little box beside the name Zach Shannon to give us a vote, we'd truly appreciate it! Dont have to do anything besides hit the box. Thanks! As always, Go Vols🍊

I’ll buy anyone’s that don’t want to pay the increase. I’m #8,768 on the waitlist.
