I thought I prefaced my comment with the understanding that there are some people out there that need an assist, but I would venture to guess that a huge % of people could very positively influence their overall body composition with portion control and increased exercise. That was all I was saying. Once those things have been tried or have reached their limits of effectiveness, then yes, other methods should be explored to find the right option for each person individually. I am glad that you have found an equilibrium and are in a good place with the things in your life that have caused you issues in the past.Spoken like someone who has never fought those issues.
The LH-VTA loop is involved in both hunger and addiction, and the two can become intertwined for some people. I have never experienced alcohol addiction, but would never judge someone who has because I've seen what food addiction can do. I've spent most of my adult life afraid of food, much as an alcoholic is afraid of alcohol. At one point I was 100 pounds heavier than I am now. I lost 75 in my first low carb effort, but regained half of it over time. With the chemical assist, I'm now 160lbs, my A1C is 5.4. I split virtually every meal with my wife and I'm no longer afraid of food. I can now enjoy in moderation things I couldn't previously because they fired up the addiction. So forgive me if I think the "you just need some will power" attitude is kinda crap.
I am in the same boat and my cholesterol is likely a genetic issue. I have worked for a couple years now to see if diet, exercise, and various supplements might help. Went for my annual checkup today in fact. If my blood work still shows my LDL in the 145 range my doc is recommending that we start on a prescription. So be it if it leads me to a longer happy life.I tend to agree about avoiding prescription pills but there is lots of evidence around the major health benefits of keeping cholesterol low. For that reason, I take Atorvastatin and my numbers are quite good. Cholesterol is a genetic thing for me and lowering purely on diet and exercise was not working.
Well the good news is they also see these extreme influences dying and guys like Derrick from more plates more dates are speaking honestly about the drugs being consumed to achieve these goals. I worry about all the people injecting random peptides with no research behind it.On the topic of fitness/weight lifting: I've thankfully aged out of this demographic, but I would hate to be a teenager or early 20-something trying to go to the gym now and dealing with expectations vs reality.
Influencers have absolutely nuked the brains of that generation into thinking that if you don't look stage-ready for a bodybuilding competition at all times, you aren't even lifting. Worse yet, many think those physiques are possible naturally in 1-2 years of lifting. Just insane.
Sad to think how many young impressionable people get disappointed when they lift for 6 months and aren't shredded, so they either quit or go straight to anabolics.
The reduction in inflammation has been eye opening. I have a single joint of one finger that was very sensitive, I assume from arthritis. After I had been on tirz for a while I happen to notice that it didn't hurt. Didn't make the connection at the time, but assumed it was due to a supplement I'd started taking. After being off it for a year or so, the pain came back, so I started trying to figure out what the difference was, but never figured it out. Some time later I went back on tirz, and a couple of months after that noticed the pain was gone again. The only thing I had changed was the tirz, so naturally I consulted Dr. Google and learned that major reductions in inflammation is a well-established benefit. They are still learning about the long term benefits but with that clear a reduction in inflammation the science will only get clearer over time. What they already know is that heart disease, dementia, and other diseases of inflammation + old age are showing big improvements. That’s awesome man! Glad you found something that works for you. Science has really come a long way in helping our bodies where we need it.
I had it for about a year about 3 years ago, tried a lot of things. The only thing I got to work was a massage gun and massage and stretch your calves 2-3 times a day. A lot of the pain comes from a tight calf pulling the tendons that run below the to underside of your feet.Anyone got any Plantar Fasciitis recommendations? Just now experiencing this. Right heel feels like someone is stabbing me with a knife in the mornings. Wears off as the day goes.
Inserts the best?
There are different body types and basal metabolic rates, but neither of those play a primary role in someone’s ability to gain or lose weight. Calories in vs calories out is the primary determinant and, yes, that is supported by all scientific studies on the subject.edit*
This isn’t true. Throwing a “99%” blanket statement is wrong. There are 3 basic body types. Endo, Meso, Ecto.
Not everyone is created equally

Food addiction can throw a wrench into things, but at the end of the day it is a subject with very little gray area.
When you run the same plays for three years with no preforming QBa, it is pretty easy for other teams to figure out out what you are going to run. That is changing this year and we will have a new talented team on the field this year. We will have a very good year this Fall.Man guys ran wide open ALOT and Pajama boy could not hit them at all. Imagine how that changes the offense and so many of our drives if he could hit the broadside of a barn. It was quite literally every game we played.
Obviously if everyone did the "right" things, they would do much better. That isn't the question. The question is why don't they? What I'm saying is that Big Food is incentivized to use ingredients that drive addictions. Once addictions are established in those who have the genetic predisposition toward them, no amount of will power will fix it. And rest assured, Big Food is just as aware of what they are doing as Big Tobacco, Big Pharma, Big Oil, and every other profit driven monopoly. The only difference between Big Food and drug dealers is the legality of what they sell.I thought I prefaced my comment with the understanding that there are some people out there that need an assist, but I would venture to guess that a huge % of people could very positively influence their overall body composition with portion control and increased exercise. Serious question.
If female players feel like the WNBA doesn't pay them fairly why don't they play full time overseas?
That was what happened to our best soccer talent for a long time.
I am in support of them earning their value, but I personally do not value women's basketball so why would i imagine those that do paying more? If fans do in Kyzekistan have at it. Chase your bag.
Never too old to be in the gym. You will get too old if you get out of it pretty quick though. On the topic of fitness/weight lifting: I've thankfully aged out of this demographic, but I would hate to be a teenager or early 20-something trying to go to the gym now and dealing with expectations vs reality.
