Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

There was a time when the media was responsible enough to not quote unfortunate individuals who quite obviously have limited cognitive ability. Today, they seek them out like vultures.
Listening to this guy talk, he should be medicated and in a safe, isolated environment. He's going to get himself or someone else killed running his mouth.

Only on VN is insider status simultaneously a reason to believe what someone is saying, AND a reason NOT to believe what they're saying lol. It's almost like people will just believe whatever they want to believe.

Can't really recall a single time we've gotten any relevant insight from Ainge, Swain, Kyler Kerbyson... Any of the VFL media guys who get to see more of practice. On the other hand, VQ breaks news and puts up correct predictions routinely. So I think history is on my side with this one, pointless psy-ops from the coaching staff not withstanding.
I've heard several legit things from Ainge, Swain and Kyler.

Like when Milton came...Ainge was like, "yep, he's our starter, it's obvious" and he was. I remember him talking about how good Pili was back in 2023. How he was the team leader and how good of a player he was.

They all (media/former players) often say the same things and all of them have been wrong and right about multiple things.
It is asinine to think intel like a former QB brings from watching them PLAY FOOTBALL, is doubted more than what Austin Price "Heard". It's not like he just said "oh Joey looked better" He talked about specific things like, his demeanor, poise, footwork, accuracy, ability to anticipate, not turning the hall over. Whereas the other two were more inconsistent. Like not processing as fast as Joey and looking as comfortable. Up and down freshman type play. That's what he saw and he feels there's no doubt Joey ends up starting. I value Volquest, but if a former player is specific about stuff like that, I have a hard time leaning towards what the media has HEARD, when the coaches don't even want them to know or see certain things.

What AP and Hubbs have "heard" is from the staff or those in the building with the staff.

So yeah, give me what AP has "heard" over what Ainge has seen in a couple of team periods
I’m not arguing any points here….just pointing out that as a former player Ainge gets to watch as much practice as he wants to. Heupel lets those guys come and be a part as much as they want to be.

That's Austin having watched just routes on air and things he's heard.

I'm still siding with Ainge's former QB eyeballs assessing them all in team period.

I’m too lazy to go back and try and find what Ainge said. Is he saying Merk?

My money is on JA based on absolutely nothing besides experience lol

He said Joey is clearly the starter.

You could also base it on Joey has looked really good in the past and we've never seen Jake do anything but look like a freshman.
