Exactly. Seth has had play calling responsibilities at a high level though in the past. He was really hobbled at OU with the injuries and youth he had there. They had five WRs miss significant time; I think opening game they were down to their third or fourth string wr. A lot of youth at QB as well. And a rebuilt Oline. And he might be absolutely terrible but I’m not ready to make that call based off last year at OU.
Heupel was also a scapegoat at OU. We know how that worked out.

I think Heupel has earned the benefit of the doubt regarding his coaching choices. So many blame Halzle for Milton and Nico, assuming that the reason for the backstep was the OC change and not the QB change. We'll see, but my money is on QBs. But it's moot, we have no idea what Heupel's plans for him are. He may just be helping a friend and teammate in a transition.

now if we could just get a foor fiddy 8 footer.

Executive orders are intended to implement laws, not create them. The fact that they are getting away with it (or simply ignoring court orders they don't agree with) doesn't make it constitutional. But I'm a lowly engineer, not a lawyer or politician, so I may very well be wrong. With that said, there were CFB leaders suggesting that the EO really didn't have any teeth, nor should it.
EOs are used for lots of reasons. Often to implement laws, but often just based on presidential constitutional authority to make regulatory policy absent existing laws. Tons of them are merely symbolic, too, or do things like create advisory commissions to “study” problems. They are very poorly understood in the media. They are not laws themselves but do have the force of law so long as they do not contradict congressional statutes (or are not struck down, though that’s rareish).

Important to note as well that EOs are EXECUTIVE orders, meaning they apply to entities within the executive branch (and not even all of those). They don’t apply to states, localities, or private actors.

Much worse injury than just that.

It still baffles me how we didn’t target more DBs and WRs in the portal windows. And I know we got hood but we needed safety help bad and could have used more depth at CB.

If Boo is gone (most likely), we are a couple injuries away from looking at 7-8 wins. And that’s with a pretty easy SEC schedule.
I think without Boo, that is where we are at. Injuries will happen. Just part of it.

My gawd.....let's just get to football season...
Agreed. This offseason has felt like the longest in years. I think the Nico stuff was quite enough drama for me and I just wanna watch some dang football.
I remember growing up the most I’d ever know about the team before the season started is when the Football Time mags went on sale. How times have changed.

Seemed a lot shorter when we were winning a natty in baseball

The offense at OU was terrible. If we let one mediocre oc go why would we replace him with another mediocre oc?
You can’t judge by one season when they had a terrible OL, freshman QB, and injured WR’s. They were bad but not all because of him. He’s a Leach and Fedora disciple.

He was Fedora’s OC at UNC in 2015 when they had one of, if not the best offense in school history. Went 11-3. Littrell took the North Texas job, and Fedora was fired less than 3 years later. North Texas also hasn’t done any better after firing him. He won 9 games a couple of times.
