Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I don’t know if I believe it or not, but focusing a large portion of your NIL to select players to outbid other teams doesn’t necessarily mean that the total NIL available for the whole team isn’t less than other those teams.
Recruits are way cheaper than paying good players to stick around. This is why recruiting tells you so little now and Blue Chip Ratio is outdated. The portal is a HUGE part of things now. BCR doesn't even factor in who transfers out of your school. Bama is losing players anyone would want to keep, every cycle.

AP voters who left us off of their ballots.

Henry Greenstein - covers Kansas
Dylan Sinn - covers Notre Dame
Josh Furlong - covers Utah
Stephen Means - covers Ohio State
Kirk Kenney - covers San Diego State
Pete Yanity - covers Clemson
Kirk Bohls - covers Texas

Sinn voted one-loss ND #10
Furlong voted Utah #19
Yanity voted one-loss Clemson #9
Bohls voted one-loss Texas #8

AP poll is corrupt as hell.
I hope they keep it up all year. I want our guys to have a huge chip on their shoulders

I want to illustrate the situation Alabama finds themselves in here. After losing a DT to a season-ending injury, the next guy on the depth chart is a 3-star true freshman Landon Simmons.
About ****ing time. Hate it for the kid getting injured but Alabama speaking it’s past due.

I refuse to believe that most schools are 20-30 million more invested in NIL than bama is. I actually think the truth is you can get a bag anywhere now, and not just a handful of schools. Now they’re mad about it.
They lost their cheating edge and now they’re going to cry like little babies!!

Kitselman will be a 3rd rounder potentially higher and long time NFLer if he stays healthy
Definitely! Has a good future ahead of him

I could see him going in 2nd (or even 1st) round if we fold him in to the offense well enough this year

I know people complained about not involving the TEs more. One pass intended for Davis in the endzone was DL swatted. I think there was maybe 1 or 2 others also. Not worried about lack of involvement in w1 as it was a good opportunity for RBs to get in the fold and WRs to start strong.

When I get bored sometimes I like to look rosters/depth charts of teams we play this year. To see who they've brought in from the transfer portal. I was expecting them to have brought in a bunch of OL since their OL was so bad last season but they didn't. Only their starting right tackle and backup C came from the transfer portal. The C came from Standford and The RT previous school's were Tusculum, Abilene Christian and Western Carolina. I guess they spent too much on Mateer and his OC to get a decent OL.
