I mean Tillman returning...Hyatt, Calloway, Holiday all entering their 3rd year here. Keyton will be entering year 4 and we just signed 4 and got arguably one of the best WR transfers in the portal.

I'm more worried about LB and OL going into next season.
Uhm, are you talking about the WR who just decommitted from us and committed to Texas?

I mean…Pete Rose is blackballed for betting on the game. But I would bet a ton of the old heads bet on games as well, Babe Ruth etc.
It's like all the old timers that complained about PED's all the while having a bowl of upper in the clubhouses in the 60's and 70's. Performance enhancing is performance enhancing.

Damnit to hell my day is RUINED by this...

Guess the Texas boy was waiting on a Texas school...just got Kiffin'd by a damn Transfer. How is that allowed though? Because he didn't start classes until today he still had time to shop around?

My wife and I donate money to charity in each other's name. Both of us have everything we need and are blessed beyond measure. We made the commitment a few years ago (after the kids left the house) to stop worrying about buying for each other and start giving back to our community. Over the past few years alone, we've donated several thousand dollars to St Jude, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and local children's and animal charities. The satisfaction we receive from giving to others far outweighs the value of a power tool or necklace.
I'm sure the likes you will receive from this post will give you great satisfaction as well. We give plenty but don't brag about it Mikey.

posting this here because we're melting down and it's worth considering:

It's not rocket science, and it's not a bad showing on our staff.

The guy is from TX and didn't get a sniff from Texas his first recruitment. He saw a lot of peers and others around the state end up at Texas when he was coming out, and he had to settle for Wyoming. And EVERYTHING in the state of Texas high school football is Hook'Em Horns.

This time around, he gets a huge pull from Texas. They treat him like a king on campus. He probably got to enjoy the spoils of a top-ranked recruit this time, which he didn't even get close to experiencing last time around.

They knew his name, they rolled out the red carpet, they told him what he wanted to hear, they showed him what he wanted to see, they gave him more than he could ever even know to ask for (Austin has some talent, too), they told his family everything they wanted/needed to hear. His family and friends put the press on too.

Then add in whatever their NIL pitch was.

There was nothing that we could do.

At least we didn't lose him to Kiffin and Ole Miss.

You know what’s really gonna blow? Donating to the 1951 club and still missing out on all these players.

The 1951 might be ahead of the curve now, but eventually it will just be cost of competing. We will have, at best, just as much as the other top programs. It is the cost of doing business, the ticket to entry for recruiting/portal.

All things being equal, recruiting will just go back to what it has been, and things like location and staff will be the deciding factors.

probably best to get off here and come back around spring to see if anything has happened.
Just grab a drink and relax man, enjoy the ride. Last year we all thought Danny White was a buffoon because he hired Josh Heupel. This year we all think it's the best hire we could have ever made. He's put us on a nice path back to football relevance.
