Stop. Our fans love to borrow trouble. Don’t do it.

Not borrowing trouble. It’s legit reason to be concerned for a guy that just left Penn St that is from Michigan will be on the list of replacement for Pry. He was who Franklin was going to bring as DC to TN. So Franklin will most definitely come calling. I don’t know what Banks aspirations are though and he has solid relationship with current staff. Maybe he doesn’t go but it’s something to watch

Genuine question and take your SEC bias out of it. Based off the info we know about what USC is paying Riley, how the hell could anybody hate him making that move? He made the right business decision and it’s pretty clear as day
I'm curious if he even gave OU a chance to counter... from OU press conference, it doesn't sound like he did. That makes me think he ran scared from SEC, which is fine - path to NC would be easier at USC. BTW, I take those rumors of his $ package with a grain of salt - no way that much detail was given out - unless on purpose by Riley's people to lessen the "judgment" surrounding the circumstances under which he left.

EA interviewed coach this morning. Here's what he had to say.

FWIW, I didn't take this as a 100% denial of the OU job. I saw this as him repeating things he's said before, about what he's building here, and how much his family loves it, etc, etc. I'll rest easy when OU hires someone else.

Then my friend, we’ll have to disagree to disagree. I feel those ways for FL and Bama, KY doesn’t even deserve that feeling.
They didn't deserve it for most of my life, but they sure do now...come up here and live amongst these bandwagon upstarts and you will understand the depths of my loathing. I once kind of felt badly for them and Vandy, but their unwarranted, unearned, arrogantly disrespectful attitudes towards Tennessee over the last 10-15 years have changed that forever. I hate them just as much now..or even more than I do UF, Bama and UGA.

He will never give a straight yes or no answer

Can't help but point out that he technically never said "I'm staying put" or something of that nature. Ugh my BVS is in overdrive
He definitely left himself an out.

You could have added "but plans change" to the end of any of his statements and have exactly what he would say in his exit note/speech.

We'll just have to eat some Xanax and hope that OU makes a hire.

They hardly ever do tbh. That I think was why people were surprised when Riley straight up said what he did about LSU. Makes it easier when you already have another job in the bag though I guess.

If OU does take Heupel, I think our plan this time around will be much better and there will be better options.my money though is still on Ole Bob to take the reigns back

I’ll be honest…

Riley leaving OU for USC & now Kelly leaving ND for LSU has definitely made me worry about Heupel to OU.

Still think they have other names ahead of him, but it is his alma mater & he hasn’t had a losing season as a HC.

Their last 2 hires though were coordinators, so who knows.

Heres what lll say.

Lincoln Riley bolted far away from SEC play where none of us could get his penny loafers dirty. He wanted no part of big boy ball. Kind of weaselly if we're being honest.

Brian Kelly left his coddly kingdom and walked right into the hairy belly of the beast and decided to try to compete with the best every week. Respect.
Yep...I have to give credit to Kelly for that one...this is a balls of steel move for him...of course he gets a winning powerball ticket for doing it...but still ballsy.
