Not UT news but I remember Blackburn’s name coming up in some AD searches. He did something to eliminate himself from consideration but unfortunately I don’t recall.
Blackburn named director of operations for ETSU football
I'm thinking about going to both.Trying to decide whether to go to the Pitt game or the LSU game next year. Pittsburgh is a cool city to visit and I'd love to see a game at Heinz without having to endure Steelers fans, but Baton Rouge would be a blast too and this *should* be a good year to catch them at home. Unfortunately can't swing both games/trips.
Any of yall have plans for either trip?
I'm likely going to try to make the UF game and/or UK game as well which will factor in to my decision.

I'm going to go to 1 UT game (Ball St), 1 FSU game (@Louisville), and the Austin Peay/Alabama game.Trying to decide whether to go to the Pitt game or the LSU game next year. You proved his point. You don't care to understand it because you're already coming from a perspective that you don't like it and you think it's a "simple" game.
It's fine if you don't care. You're free to not care and not like it. The point is that there's more to it than you think, and the game planning and schemes are complex. Someone could say football is simple and straightforward- just get the ball across the goal line - and say there's no more complexity or understanding needed, and they'd also be wrong for that perspective. Because we know matchups, schemes, game plans, defensive orientations and personnel, etc.
Every sport has these complexities, which is something I started learning as I got older and it opened my eyes to enjoying more sports and being interested in sports I used to dislike. Just realized there isn't a single "dumb sport." They're all awesome and interesting in their own rights.
I'd go to LSU. The City of Pittsburgh sucks imo. Tiger Stadium is an awesome venue, I went to a night game there when I was a Miss State student. Baton Rouge sucks, but you can hang out in NOLA. You can book a fishing trip on the gulf while you're down there (I recommend Coastal Waters Outfitters in Biloxi, MS)Trying to decide whether to go to the Pitt game or the LSU game next year. I can't stand soccer. To each his own though. My kids have both played soccer as well as my niece and sister-in-law. I even played soccer in intramurals for my sorority. I understand it. I'm saying it's possible to understand it and still not like it. It's silly to assume that because I don't like it, I don't understand it. I also didn't call it dumb. It requires an insane amount of athletism and talent to play at a high level. I just don't enjoy watching it.
I’m a Steelers fan and planning to go to the Pitt game this year….. I will try to sit near you. LOLTrying to decide whether to go to the Pitt game or the LSU game next year.
