There are some seriously tedious so-and-sos on this board. Nice bit of clinical bipolar, I'd wager.

And in other news, I guess I'm just lucky. While visiting my daughter all the way on the left coast, there was a domestic shooting a block away from us. Ended in the suspect getting put down by LEOs. Nice neighborhood in a suburb of Seattle. I thought that stuff only happened among the right wingers? Kinda missing my CCW about now.

Why does everyone who speaks an opinion they know to be contrary to the vast majority of the board try to pull the "I am being attacked for my opinion" card? Why be surprised when you know it will not be popular. A lot of people can disagree with you without it being persecution in any way. Grow a pair. (Apologies to @Orangeredblooded, @SmokinBob , @SweetasSoda @Kristy* )

Texas is arguably the biggest brand in all of college football and he took less money from them? To stay closer to home after putting up with 2 years in Wyoming? Come on man! You got bargaining power.

Women at UT are going to benefit bigly from the LV pushback. If this were still folded into the men - they'd never see a dime and we all know it.
I hope our baseball team benefits in a big way. It's not right for those guys to pay for the right to play baseball in college. Damn Title IX.

Should college coaches be able to cut scholarship players? I started thinking about this because of the current changes. If players are going to get financial compensation for playing, should they be subject to being cut if they fail to perform? I get that they're not technically being paid to play, they're being paid for their name, image, and likeness, but if we're being honest, they're getting paid to play. So if that's the case, should they be subject to the expectations of a job where failure to perform can lead to being let go? I can see arguments for both sides. Not all scholarship kids are going to benefit from the NIL, but, at the same time, the players themselves have really brought NIL into the picture, so should there be consequences to its addition? The whole thing is a can of worms, and there absolutely should be uniform rules and regulations to the process to create a fair playing field, but with the NCAA losing its teeth on the subject (thanks to SCOTUS), who has the authority to create and enforce those rules?
They‘re not being paid as employees or contractors to the university but to the entities they represent as part of their NIL deal…

Football and basketball are the problem there but wbb offsets men's so it's mainly football. The reason baseball is a partial scholarship has to do with football and basketball being hard capped -- they were baked in and protected at all costs. That left baseball and other sports to be gutted to get an equal number of scholarships. But men's sports starts with 85 going to football no matter what and you work out from there. The fix would be to raise scholarship caps and the number of teams across the board but schools don't want to do that.

Attention Hoe's maybe

Just further proof that Kentucky sees Tennessee as its #1 SEC rival. I like that. Meanwhile, depending on which UT fan you ask, he/she would list Kentucky anywhere between 3rd and 5th among conference rivals. To clarify, Im talking all sports as a whole. Kentucky is undoubtedly our #1 conference rival in hoops and they will say the same.

(Not pointed at you, but...)

Lol don't care. Vandy prob says the same...again don't care.

Neither is worthy of a rivalry across major sports except out of mere proximity.

History/Bitterness between the State of Tennessee and the Commonwealth of Kentucky dates back to the "War Between the States."
It's a natural rivalry for many reasons;)

Lol ok random guy. When you turn yourself in to the NCAA that is 100% hurting your program for no reason. Let them come looking or find something, don’t unlock the safe with all the secrets and let them dig in it for months. I guess if you rob a bank, you should turn yourself in to the police. It’s better than getting caught in your mind.

Wasn't the general theory - even posited by 247 - that there was a whistleblower? If there was, wouldn't quite be the same as turning yourself in.

Frustrating part is NIL was meant for deals like Spyre just announced regarding jerseys and apparel. What it is being used instead of for pay for play and free agency. If going to do this need to do 4 year contracts instead of 4year scholarships to avoid the transfer chaos. Make it like NFL. Make the kids really understand what it’s like. Make them sign contracts. Locker rooms nationwide going to be a mess with jealousy at amounts people getting paid.

So for those who think we are struggling in recruiting, HC Heupel was hired almost 1 year ago. This time last year, did you think we would have a class ranked in the 11-15 range as it is now? To say we are struggling, you must have thought our class would be ranked in the Top10 - correct?
I predicted 15 to be honest

I've not changed the definitions. I brought up Bama and UGA because Sugar brought them up in a past conversation. I didn't want he/she thinking they were the only teams I was referring to.

And I didn't say the coaches were struggling. You're attempting to put words in my mouth. Or your illiterate and can't read properly.

I seriously suggest you put me on ignore. ORB seems convinced she knows who you were, but I don't really care. You obviously kiss the ass of certain posters, so you're definitely not new, just a new identity.
ALL other things aside...I AM curious who Orange. was 😅

100% a past poster. Nothing wrong with any of it...I'm just the curious type haha

Is he/she over the moon? Could he/she be AV? 🤔

Fine. I'm trying to explain my POV. You obviously could give two ***** less. Certain posters I care about, such as yourself, but others I really don't give a rat's ass, like Orange. Sorry I can't join the hive mind and just mindlessly agree with everyone else. That's not my style. If I have an opinion, I express it.
If you haven't noticed...I don't mindlessly agree either, and I do express unpopular opinions occasionally also, so I get where you are coming from there...however...the negatrolls have made this particular thing (and the BB team) a freaking exhausting nightmare to discuss.

Surely to crap you can see and understand that, and you just seem (notice I said SEEM) to have have thrown in with the mr. chiggerbeards, fakevolstodawall types on this one. Consider the 90+ million cancerous posts made on this subject by those subjective asscancers and maybe...just maybe you can get a sense of why you got lumped in with them.

I understand what you are saying, though I sort of disagree..I do think that when looked at through our usual level of recruiting perspective that we could be construed as "struggling"...however...when viewed from our current perspective, which would be everything that has happened over the last 16 or so months since Pruitts team fell apart in September of 2020, I think that like SugarCC is saying, we have actually done better than I thought we would...so I can't really call it "struggling" at this point.

If we are still recruiting at this level a year from now...then I will 100% agree with that assessment.

I am trying to refrain from going full pissed off ******* like I did Saturday..hence the "I'm done..wallow away"...not trying to be a dick.

Believe that is what many may already be doing. This was mentioned with the rumor surrounding TAMU's deals. They're basically multiyear deals to incentivize being around for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th year.

Now...exactly how that's done without pay for play...not sure, but I'd figure some simple and creative wording could get it done. Just like how you must be physically present for many standard contractor positions, surely that could be thrown into the language. Or, say, if you aren't present in the future, then the deal would be canceled asap and paid remainder on pro rata.

You are correct. I forgot about Mincey. I'm not sure if he's a huge get, but he's definitely a good pickup. I guess because he happened around the time of the ESP I kind of lumped him in with the early signing class rather than as a portal pickup.
I think OT is our absolute biggest need period...I think Mincey will provide good solid play...which is infinitely better than Davis and Crawford. I don't want to be mean about them..they tried their best, but they were HORRID and were often drive killers.

OL definitely needs to improve but secondary is scary looking at this point. The secondary was terrible even with Taylor and Jackson but now we don’t even have them.

Not enough of a sampling on Crawford.

Pray to god. We need somebody. They were really...not good. But also inexperienced at this level, ya can never tell with development...but yeah I wouldn't bank on them. Both will be grown, old men next year...hopefully they can provide solid backup.

Maybe we can find some huge B1G LT leaving a place like Michigan...Wisconisin...OSU ready to come play in the SEC. Or a Clemson...maybe Oregon transfer would be nice too.
