Staff assignments for those who are on board (still waiting on a decision from Tee).

Thigpen is going to coach corners not linebackers. Martinez is going to coach safeties (set up they had at Auburn). Jones has had two secondary coaches at Cincy.

Also, Stripling is the assistant head coach as well as defensive line coach.

Lawson has also spent 6 years under Butch. This pushes total cumulative years coaching with Butch to over 25 years for this staff, that's pretty sick IMO.

Hopefully regarding Staley staying with UT? I admit, I have been lost since about Saturday with being locked out/threads not updating. Freak has me hooked I feel like an addict haha

I don't want to do the math but if Lawson is accurate I think that would mean his staff average is 3-4 years coaching under his scheme. That's a very solid tenure and doesn't even account for the familiarity Jay and Tee would have or Jancek and Martinez would have. Almost to a man this staff would have years worth of time spent/working together.

Brent said smoething like Staley has one more left as GA and is doing good things recruiting, but he is looking for a fulltime coaching gig, and that most new coaches dont keep holdover GA's... but were ppl are so high on Staley he could possibly stay

I haven't followed recruiting as closely as I normally do because I've been wrapped up in the coaching search so I couldn't tell you specific names, but both of those guys are great recruiters and very well liked by their targets.

On the other hand, they are not Trooper Taylor and would not convince a kid to decommit to follow them.

Also curious to see if Jones lets Wilhoit work with the kickers. That is if what I saw on twitter about Wilhoit reaching out to CBJ to offer help was true. With how bad our kicking has been I still can't believe Dooley turned him down when he offered help this past year. Well, I guess I can actually. smh

TY :hi:

He has seemingly built some good relationships and is a great connection to some big recruits at Hutchinson. He is the only GA that I have heard mentioned by name in recruiting this year also, probably because he is likely the only one with exp calling plays as a DC if I'm right on that.

Yes Peter Sirman was highly thought of as a GA so we have been lucky the past few years.

Hopefully he stays!:yes:

That is because he was the only GA allowed to recruit off campus. GA's normally aren't allowed to hit the recruiting trail, but post Dooley firing we were under the limit so could allow one GA to fill that spot and chose Staley.

Is anyone else afraid we are gonna get another gut-punch? Not that we are not used to it by now...

But remember Skeet basically declared Strong our coach and then went silent the next day. Now skeet made the tee declaration last night. And now is silent again today.
