Davis initial career path took him into a variety of jobs related to sports. He was an assistant athletic director at Stanford University. He later was hired as the director of the United States Olympic Training Center. In 1996, Davis became manager of sports operations on multipurpose fields and sports programming at the field house at Disney's Wide World of Sports. In October 1998, Davis became the first African-American to be a tournament director of a PGA event, when he led the Disney World Golf Classic.

This is the stupidest **** ever....and every post like it today. Next year when whatever poor schmuck takes this impossible job is losing 8-9 games while getting his teeth kicked in and having a recruiting class ranked on the 20s or 30s, and then start out the next season losing four out of the first five...you guys will be screaming for blood again...and again...and again...and again...

I hope I am wrong, but I really believe that the next few years are going to be a freaking nightmare, and the Tennessee football program is pretty much over as a legitimate power.

Wait, let me clarify. He's been no Doug Dickey.

I do think he needs held to account. But, out of respect to his resume' and righting the ship after last **** show, should have kept him on for a year or two more.

All water under bridge at this point anyhow.
