She would have a hard time reconciling that with hiring people with questionable business practices, shaky ethics or allegations of misdeeds-- especially after waving such a big broom before the NCAA.

That's true, but I think it's an ego thing as well. Was a head coach for nearly a decade. I think his comfort zone right now is head coach. And UT would give him a lot of support to stabilize things with his PSU track record.

Assuming Gilbert is the hire at AD, he helped hire Butch in 2013, so that proves he is not afraid to go out of the region and out of the conference for a hire.

Also proves going out of the region and out of conference doesn't mean you are making the right hire. Just get a good coach.

That’s what I’ve been told. I also live in the Memphis area and have someone with connections to Liberty staff that have been saying Hugh. I don’t know any of this to be true or in the works. Just what I’ve been told.
