At this point I’m really leaning toward our best course of action ( if we have a choice ) is to keep Pruitt, attempt to build a strong staff around him and trudge ahead...
Absolutely not. We lose a recruiting class, a year of development, and prolongs the rebuild. Absolutely no way anyone should want to keep Pruitt at this point.

This is what Swain was respectfully commenting on yesterday. Enjoy the initial recruitment, it only happens once. When you step on campus though, it's time to work. That didn't happen with WM. Now it appears instead of just announcing like most players he has entered the portal, it appears he is wanting to relive the public recruiting experience. As Swain mentioned, until that switch flips, he will get the same results at any school.

Yeah I don’t recall any other transfers putting out a top schools list charade on social media. They usually go to portal stay quiet then announce where they are going.

Swains tone about HT (referred to him as one of our best players, not by name) has changed this morning. Seems very, very concerned about going to Alabama. Stating, whatever happens please don't tweet him, parents etc after the news. Spent 10 minutes on it and stressed, don't tweet players. Also stressed Bama needs ILB help now.
He gonna have to sit a year. Not a good move.

Fans aren’t the problem. It’s the Athletic Department’s for giving us **** for the last 15 years. If they would make it easy on themselves and just hire a no brainer, guess what, we would have a different tone right now.

Don’t ever blame fans when we are the ones still supporting this limp program. We have 3 ****** years and this investigation and everyone is still here.

Quit sucking Pruitt off.
There is no such thing as a no brainer..... the only ones close are Saban, Meyer, and maybe Dabo

Keeping Pruitt really makes no sense. By all accounts, Fulmer gave him anything and everything he wanted. The sum end of the results was a 3-7 season, record blowout losses, massive staff turnover, and a compliance investigation.

What do we really expect to happen if we keep him?

I don’t know how both sides move forward at this point. We’ve basically knee capped him with this investigation and hiring freeze. He’s been dangling in the wind for so long. What kind of animosity does he have towards UT at this point? Are relationships salvageable after all of this? Does he really want to be here after all this?

It’s tough to put the toothpaste back in the tube.

Out of all of the possible actions we could take, keeping Pruitt is the best one?

In my best Doc Holliday voice - "I beg to differ, sir"

I agree, but that's ALOT of money in that tube.

Ever thought it might be a combination of things?

I have and the toxic atmosphere shown from many fans is very much one of those things

How are we more toxic than any other fanbase in the SEC. You’ve got Florida and Auburn fans calling for coaches’ jobs coming off winning seasons and even division titles. It is so disingenuous to say the TN fanbase is any worse.

If Auburn, Florida, Georgia, or Bama had to endure what we have the last 15 years, they’d have already burnt some buildings down. Believe that.

The guy has turned his staff over every year since he got here. What makes people believe that some switch is going to flip in his brain and say, yep I’m suddenly going to let these guys do their jobs and not micromanage them?

I feel like we are looked upon as a "rabid/toxic" fan base because our Administration likes to drag coaching fires/hires through a LENGTHY process and the fans/media have more time to "voice" their opinion.

Other schools make a decision and go, hence the smaller public attention/scrutiny.

i.e....our Admin sux.

We are more toxic because we are losing more. The atmosphere snowballs when you lose and creates a situation that is harder for kids to want to be apart of.

It’s not that we are much different than other fan bases but it’s that we are losing and the noise is louder.

just think about how this board is tor a few days after a loss even in good years. When you lose the noise is loud and when you lose a lot it’s overbearing
