No even remotely potential assistant hires would make me rethink retaining Pruitt. I get trying to be positive, but keeping him here is simply delaying the inevitable and putting us further behind.
This. He's done staff reshuffles every offseason.

"Things will be different this time" feels like the definition of insanity.

Pugh is the OL coach Pruitt has lined up. Pugh has asked for a decision by Wednesday.
Well. if true, some people are really gonna be pi$$ed if Pruitt hires someone this week. That would throw a monkey wrench into the narrative that Pruitt is not allowed to make hires until the investigation is complete. By the way, that could go on for a loooooong time.

Would make for a very strong staff. This has been Pruitt/Fulmer’s plan for awhile now.
Very strong 🤣 with Weinke and Chaney? Zero offense. Felton (unproven), Nieds (unoroven developer), Steele merely "the face of the defense" with Pruitt calling plays like before, and above all the disaster master known as Pruitt misorchestrating the mess.

The moment Pruitt hires someone we have our answer on whether or not he's for sure back. University isn't about to approve the signing of a contract if Pruitt is in danger of getting canned.

Pruitt is one of the the worst college coaches I’ve ever seen. He coaches and manages his roster/staff like it’s high school. Obviously that post was tongue in cheek but there’s not really one candidate that has even been thought of on this bored that i would consider worse than Pruitt.
I wrote out a four paragraph response...but nevermind...you have hated Pruitt since the day he was hired, and have just been waiting for the chance to completely trash him.

No because we will get lazy and promote Steele once Pruitt is gone.

This would definitely be my fear with Steele. We saw what he did at Auburn. Would he undermine Pruitt the same way and Fulmer throws his buddy a bone. Although Pruitt and Steele are good friends

Butch Jones will now be looking for his 3rd Offensive Coordinator since he took the Ark State. Applewhite left to go be OC at South Alabama. He then hired Kevin Milwee whom was an assistant at Alabama....well now Milwee left to go be a QB coach for Sarkisian at Texas. Lmao.
Maybe he can get tee martin for oc

Blame Pruitt. The first game he saw in person was Georgia State.
If nothing else you get him a hat with a Power T and tell him it stands for titties. Never too early to teach a boy appreciation for bodacious ta-tas.

Im sure im in the minority on this but here goes. Mark Stoops is a proven .500 coach at Ky. At KY!! I actually think hes a pretty good coach and would be a big upgrade. We could do a lot worse.
Mark Stoops is a good solid football coach. He has wrung everything he could out of the Kentucky program, but he would never get the patience required from us to fix our mess.

I don’t think Weinke will be apart of the staff going forward. Not convinced Moose is back either. Pruitt’s defense was heading in the right direction in year two. With a normal offseason of development, this defense can be good next year.

I'm not trying to argue with you, but can you provide sources and who said no?
No sources, common sense. We aren't going to publicize failures. The only reason we know about Gundy was his side leaking it for leverage to get more money from Okie St.

Fulmer and Urban are in touch. If you don't think Fulmer called Urban and his other contacts to gauge interest you're kidding yourself. They aren't interested, it's too difficult a job, not a great home base recruiting situation, rabid fan base, one of the toughest schedules in football year in/year out and an admin notoriously unfriendly to football and a difficult booster situation.

Add all that up and it's just not considered a coach friendly job at all. The issue isn't money, we've thrown plenty of that around.
