I remember a guy talking about recruiting many years ago. I was still a kid and didn’t understand recruiting. He said something to the effect of “If you don’t understand recruiting, remember that these kids by and large are committing to coaches, not schools.” The world of recruiting makes much more sense if you look at it from that perspectiveVery few kids today commit to a school. It’s a hard truth some ole timers need to come to grips with.
Yup, I'm not old and it took me a min to come to terms with it. If I was a stud football prospect my homerism would not have been overcome thoughtoo stubborn. Gotta like his honesty though
I will admit our homerism can’t fathom why a kid wouldn’t pick the all mighty UT Vols just because, but we’ve seen guys that we just absolutely knew we’re going to be Vols go to schools like OSU, Clemson, Bama etc all because of the coach. A bunch of these kids and parents that Pruitt recruited bought into the vision that he is selling and we’re seeing it play out in public now. It absolutely sucks that we have an administration thats just incompetent and guys that are VFL just turn on their whole program because they don’t like the guy.I remember a guy talking about recruiting many years ago.
