Pruitt says they stress winning the last 4 minutes of the first half and the first 4 minutes of the second half. If you are trying to run the clock out it will be hard to score.
What's weird is I feel that's when the coaching has been at its worst. We never manage the clock well at the end of the 1st half and when we come out of the locker room I always wonder what the hell the coaches told the players because they seem uninspired at the start of the 2nd half.

TB has been in the NFL for a decade. He's a very good QB. He also had excellent wideouts and an elite OL toward the end...and yet only averaged 30 ppg ONCE. Half of all FBS teams now average over 30. Chaney has done it 1 of his 6 seasons here. He is mediocre and the best offenses now are simplistic. Clemson, osu, Briles, Lebby, Yurcich. He is living in the past with Pruitt.
So you’re saying Tyler Bray is smarter than our current QBs? I mean seriously, how much more simplistic can 10 plays be? You need 8, 6, what’s the magic number to make this already watered down offense even more anemic?

I think we should adopt the playbook from NFL Blitz

I don't see how people find it insulting or tone deaf that UT wants to provide a better experience for all fans. Club seating was upgraded a while back and upgrading other areas of the stadium, including non-premium seating, has been in the long-term plan. Fans have complained for decades about things that are long overdue. And now it sets people off? But that's the last I'll say about it.

you do realize we are on pace for the worst season in the history of the university? And the perception of why UT can’t hire successful coaches over the past decade is money, So renovations for game experience is tone deaf.

As an alum that has to travel 8 hours to share that experience with my children (I was in school from 93-97), the draw is a packed Neyland and competitive team. Not the comfy of the seats. One of my fondest memories is watching Chuck Webb run for 294 yds against Ole Miss while sitting with an obscured view behind a pillar. And I wouldnt change that for anything. I will make the trip to support a competitive team, not for the fabricated experience.

nothing personal intended. I appreciate what you provide and hope you will continue to do so.

TB and Chaney scored under 30 ppg 2 OF HIS 3 SEASONS! You also have to remember Chaney does NOT have an offense of his own. He does what his HC wants. TB was under Dooley.

Pruitt clearly prefers ridiculous complexity. Chaney and his current 500 page playbook is just awful. Chaney + Pruitt is not good offensive combo for modern CFB.

I don’t believe there is a 500 page playbook. That’s my point. If there is we only run the first 3 pages.

With the total collapse of this team I am wondering if the firing of Brumbaugh (sp) had anything to do with it. Really odd how it happened and ever since our performance has been well you know. Would love to hear @Atlanta VOL comment on this.

Not what I said.

What I said was, UT has known about the deal for a while. The deal money won't be coming in for years and some of it is already earmarked for large-scale facility improvements that have been pushed back until funding is available. So a coaching search doesn't depend on, nor is guaranteed by, monies payable in 2024.
I’m so tired of renovations and upgrades. Let’s worry about being a respectable program and winning. Then make upgrades.

AV said it months ago, we have a huge playbook. We would be good on offense if we had 3 pages. That is the size of a Briles playbook. There's a reason they don't trust any QBs to merely even line us up. It is too much for the offense in a pandemic year. Sadly, it is also minimally complex for the defense to defend... the worst of both worlds.

That’s what vandy says

They are still losing and I’m still having to wait in the line for 30min to drain the 12 pack of tailgate beer at their sorry ass facility from my fat ass body

I think his point was that Barnes has been better here than many expected. The reaction when he was hired was mostly “Eh, he’s a retread, was really mediocre the last several years at Texas.”He’s been way better than mediocre so far, even though he is currently overpaid.

He’s fine at a place like Tennessee that isn’t a basketball blue blood. He’s never been a good tournament coach, but if he makes deep tournament runs here and there that’s about as good as we can do I think.

The administration had to pay him. He’s been great for us and a kind of coach that we needed at the time. The ironic thing is that people complained about paying him big money at the time, and now people are complaining that we don’t pay big money for a football coach who has won at a P5 school. Paying Barnes an extra million or so per year is nothing when he continues to keep us relevant. It’s all paid back with season tickets in a normal year. Tennessee basketball has to pay a premium when you want to keep good coaches.

Like I said, I don’t believe there is a 500 page playbook, don’t care who said it and according to other urban legends, Briles doesn’t have a playbook at all.

Maybe Fulmer needs to be fired if he is sticking his nose in football. Either way Pruitt has to go and if Fulmer is a problem then he needs to go to
