I wonder if Phil is the way he is because he has a first time HC to work with. Maybe his involvement would be less with an experienced head coach.

I think the pitch to Pruitt was you’ll have a NC winning coach at your disposal. Little did Fulmer know that JP was so stubborn and little did Pruitt know Fulmer was so stubborn. So here we are.

Ive never gotten to talk to him because I was working, but ive seen Pruitt at a few events outside of UT. This is the vibe I got as well. I remember a few months after he was hired he was at an event, and I kid you not when I say he spent more time walking around in the hallway on his phone then he did in the room he was supposed to be in. The second time he was in there and somewhat trying, but honestly had a look like he could care less about being there.

Probably cruitin

Former VFL’s obviously don’t hang around the program if hugging Florida players is going on..that would piss me off..
It’s going to be funny if they try to reach out to some VFL’s like they did last year for phone calls and dinner at Pruitts house. I bet it doesn’t happen. They don’t want that heat. Jarrett was pouting on the sideline after one interception and my neighbor said he wanted to snatch him up. Also, he was pissed no coaches talked to him or chewed him out. Soft culture.

I see so many talking about how we must keep Fulmer because he loves UT and while thats true Fulmer loves himself more than he does UT. Here's what I mean, Fulmer knows moving on from Pruitt is the best thing to do for this program moving forward and he knows there is a homerun hire down the road that can get this thing turned around. However, Fulmer knows that moving on from Pruitt is not whats best for Fulmer.

Fulmer is not a long term AD and he didn't take the job to be a long term AD. He took it because UT was a dumpster fire and he wants what's best for UT. That's his only goal. Things have a way of working out but hiring football coaches every 3 years is not the answer.

I do know this. Casey sometimes reads here, so I try to be diplomatic. Absolutely the warning signs and red flags were there when we hired him-- and I've said over and over that his personality and style are what they've always been. Couple that with the dynamics and learning curve at a place like UT, where winning is expected and fans are impatient, and we're where we are. And I agree that Fulmer won't get a mulligan.
Casey, if you’re reading this, we like coach Pruitt. We really do. He just isn’t ready yet. It’s okay. We just want to win.

Which game was this?

I've heard that both Dooley and Pruitt are extremely arrogant, but in different ways.

Dooley had an "I'm too good for you, I'm college football royalty, my s**t doesn't stink" arrogance. Pruitt has a more rough around the edges, hard-charging, "If you don't like me then F you" arrogance.

We keep hiring guys with major personality defects.

Kiffin was an immature frat guy who wasn't ready for this job.

Dooley was a classic neurotic narcissist.

Butch was insecure and didn't think he belonged at this level.

And Pruitt is just hardheaded and suffering from an extreme case of the Dunning-Kruger effect.

One thing we often forget is that there are Innocents caught up in all this. Family members don't deserve the fodder that's often lobbed their direction. So yeah, we'd all be well advised to be civil in regards to our commentary. I mean I really don't blame Pruitt. He's probably doing the best he can. You can tell he's frustrated and I get the feeling he's lost in what to do to fix things. Compound that with him evidently being stubborn and unwilling to accept help means he probably won't get there. He needs a dose of humble pie. But, the dude never should have been hired. It was way out of his league and skill set to be successful.
