I didn't say he was Burrow. I said "Burrow like story." He doesn't have to win the Heisman. But nobody expected Burrow to set the world on fire. I could absolutely see Freeze taking Shrout and turning him into a high level QB for us with 25-30 td's in a season. He's also got mobility as well similar to that of Burrow.

Where did that QB draw come from? It's amazing how all 3 pro style QB's on our roster are more mobile than the one dual threat.

What sucks most is I think beating Vandy could help confidence and potentially give us a shot at an upset over A&M who I think may either look past us (CFP hopes) or be disinterested if their CFP hopes are lost.

I think that's what's frustrating to me, I feel like there is talent good enough on this team to play with anyone on any given Saturday. Hell Georgia got all they could handle until JG went ham.

This transfer waiver rule has me concerned. I think it's really going to hurt teams like Tennessee. Winning programs come and just cherry pick the best players on struggling teams. I think it could devastate the vols roster this spring.
It creates competition which is gonna be a hard lesson for our key decision makers to learn. You gotta COMPETE and stay relevant for things like this not to happen. You don’t wanna compete then UT will become like the D league team for those schools that do and need more depth.

Say A&M is moved to this week, would the Vandy game be cancelled all together or would we try to play it the 19th, also would there be another opponent we could possibly play if Vandy is a no-go all together?

We would beat Vandy. They don't even want to play. But there's not a lot of enthusiasm for playing non-championship games a week before Christmas.
Would Tennessee still press hard to play that game? I have a feeling most in the program feel they want/need the optics of a win to go through with keeping Pruitt another year.

Why can’t we like both?

I do believe its the lack of development also. Shrout has been here longer and knows more playbook than Bailey at this time. I believe Shrout can be a good QB and for the record I am a Bailey fan and hope to see him get developed and be our future QB that FINALLY gets turned around under a new HC be it Freeze, Campbell, or Chadwell.

Can’t wait to hear pruitts presser today......
What I want to hear: "I've realized that I'm not doing a very good job and I think it would be best if I stepped down. At the end of the year I will be resigning as head coach at the University of Tennessee."

What we'll probably hear: "Since JG will have a full week of practice he will be our starter this week."

It’s going to help us in the long run anyway.

Need someone to dig a bit on these candidates....I want the HC that can keep his staff longer than a flipping single season, feels like we can't build if the program has a revolving door for staff members.

One reason I think Campbell is a very strong candidate. He's only got 2 guys on staff that haven't been there longer than 2 seasons.

It's amazing how quickly the board went from Bailey to Shrout. I'm still firmly in the Bailey camp. He was a couple overshoots on deep throws from a 3-4TD day and we're in the ballgame. Was excellent on the intermediate passes and reads. Just has to recognize pressure and make the proper protection calls a little better.
Shrout got two first downs from penalties and made a few good throws. If he plays all game, he throws two picks and everyone hates him. I’m glad he played well and had his moment, but he is not our answer at QB.
