Agree with all that. But I feel like Green has just been a little off lately. To me, he wasn't the guy to call on in a game like that. But Snitker absolutely made the right decision to pull him. And they got the win.

As far as the next series, I really hope Fried can pitch 2 if it comes to it. Would love to see Anderson pitch 2 also, but it won't happen. He's been stellar. Not a huge fan of the setup. Will most likely have to leave off one or two good arms to carry another starter. Green would be my choice to drop, but they'll probably go with experience over recent success. Will be really interesting.
It will be. I know this is off the cuff, but I like dropping Charlie and Contreras. Add Wilson/Ynoa. Then do this for the rotation. Also shout out to AA for leaving Luke off the roster, Snit for sure uses him in G1 and he probably gives up a run.
G1: Fried
G2: Wilson/Ynoa/Tomlion( Let Wilson and Ynoa go 1 time through the order then bring in Tomlin to get you through 6 if needed. Then use bullpen as needed to finish. Only do this if we win G1.)
G3: Ian
G4: Wright
G5: Fried( only need 4 or 5 then let the pen finish.)

I don't hate that. Normally you would want to have a 3rd catcher for injuries, but if either D'Arnaud or Flowers gets injured, you could add Contreras back for the next game.

Why would you pitch the combo for game 2 instead of going with Anderson? I would switch 2 and 3. Otherwise, agree!

Also, yes AA and Snit set up a great wildcard roster. No Jackson, Camargo, or Ender.

Just thinking if you split the first 2 with that combo then it sets up better than splitting with Fried and Anderson.

The spread on ESPN for out game was -11.5 earlier today. It's -12 now.
Just watched their Alabama game..... we are about to throw all over their poor souls..... and with Cade back Alabama was able to punch it right up their guts..... so I expect the same from us. Hope Hyatt gets a long catch and run TD.

IMO: KJ saw through the bullcrap that bowl-cut was trying to sell. Jamie saw it after he got there and after sometime decided it he was better off not playing.

Funny and fitting thing is... uga would be serious serious NC contenders this year (might’ve won last year) had Kirby not so horrendously mismanaged his QB situation - causing JF to leave.

As it is, they’ll likely lose 2-3 games this year.

Tennessee will be without Shawn Shamburger who should return next week at Georgia. Doneiko Slaughter is expected to start at the star position. Theo Jackson will back him up and if need be the Vols could slide Bryce Thompson into that role. Jaylen McCullough should start at safety and his return will help eliminate any communication issues/confusion.

Elsewhere, the hope a week ago, was to play the freshman receivers more, but they was some concern about how ready they were and the veterans played well early limiting some of the reps for the young guys. As it was told to us this week, the “young pups” are coming and will be more and more of a factor moving forward. With most of those guys missing two weeks in fall camp due to quarantine made it hard to have them ready to go week one even with a limited number of offensive plays to know.

Also we are told that quarterback Harrison Bailey is starting to settle in and last week was his best week to this point. Now, don’t get all worked up. This is JG’s offense and Bailey isn’t the back up at this point. But the freshman who missed a good bit of fall camp and had limited reps when he returned to practice is getting a better grasp on things.

Darel Middleton will play on Saturday. How much is unknown, but he is available. The question is what kind of shape is he in. Senior Aubrey Solomon looked like he has a ways to go on Saturday condition wise. Solomon only did individual drills in fall camp and as a result played a limited number of snaps at South Carolina. Middleton, when he’s been able to practice has done more contact work than Solomon, so the thought is that Middleton is in better shape than his teammate.

We expect Jeremy Banks to get the start at inside linebacker and look for Tyler Baron to get more work off the edge this week. Baron gave a good account of himself last week.
