Generally I'm not an Apple fan but TBH they probably wouldn't work on Android as fragmented as it is. Too many different hardware and software configuration.
Yeh. It is kinda something that needs a closed echo system and tbh I had no interest in smart watches at all until I realized that for our specific medical situation they could be godsends.

Yes, actually it helps a lot because sometimes I feel guilty for not pushing even though I know it doesn't help. Thank you! He has said for over a year he wants to stop and tries to on his own. It's not working obviously.
Addiction is NEVER overcome alone. The addict must first come out of isolation but breaking the necessary shame to do so is hard to do

So I have an odd request. As many of you know we lost our home and everything we own in a fire last year and that the OH was hospitalized most of last year With cancer and liver issues. I know some of you are cell phone nerds so here’s what I’m trying to figure out. How do I get my hands on an iPhone that can run iOS 14 for super cheap. I need one because my old one was incinerated and Android was cheaper but I have to have one so I can figure out how 2 to get two of the new iWatches that are coming out. That has become a priority and not because they are cool tho they are. Those watches have eec, blood ox. fall alerts (he fell multiple times last week) that enable 911 calls and a family share ability that would allow me to go into the next room without having to worry that something terrible might happen while I am out of earshot because he could easily contact me.

I have searched and searched for discounts but apparently no one cares if you are sick, dying, or disabled. No discounts that I have found for that and I’m running out of ideas. As someone who has become a primary caregiver those watches would ease my burdens immensely. Any ideas on where to look or who might be able to help would be greatly appreciated. I honestly don’t understand why this whole setup isn’t covered by Medicare because the functions it provides are life and sanity savers.

Without knowing your idea of "Super Cheep" I'd recommend sites like Woot.com, BradsDeals.com, or itechdeals.com. All of these sites have new items everyday, I know woot had iPhones twice in the last week. I'm not sure which ones run IOS 14, but Itech has 5s iPhones for $39 right now. Hope this helps and Go Vols! P.S. I've also purchased for each of these sites and personal vouch for their service.

We're doing the same for my mother-in-law and father-in-law. They live in the same neighborhood we do but he frequently travels down to their ranch by himself leaving her alone and they both have a history of falls. Fortunately they both have iPhones already.

Those are all super helpful because I don’t know which sites like that are legit and which aren’t. Thanks!

My Mom is new tech averse and still carries a flip phone but my stepdad is a techie. After they see how useful these are gonna be I am planning on talking them into them too.

Neither are my in-laws. I usually have to send a teenager over to make sure their phones are updated. My MIL can at least text and check weather with it but that's a bridge to far for my FIL.

I have a 6s plus I can give you. Will that work

Florida has gone from a mediocre offense and an elite defense to the opposite
You go from wearing knee pads for UGhA one day and to the gators is he next. Are you truly a Vol fan or what? You get hearts for eyes for everything else but what you currently have. You’d be dating Scarlett Johansson and get distracted by Miley Cyrus.

Thanks for the lists. I honesty don’t care about the phone as long as it runs and will work with the new iWatches. That is the main thing that interests me because the features would be so helpful given our medical/life situation. I wish Apple hadn’t locked them behind having an iPhone.

I'd buy an older one off swappa but make sure it has good battery health (in the 90%+ range), otherwise you could be out $80 for a new battery right after you buy it. Most sellers on swappa post pictures of the battery health.
