That’s not Fulky’s fault. That’s how he is coached to play it. Occasionally Barnes needs to mix up the defense when it’s obvious the opponent is keying on it.

Funny - I've never see a HC at that level call for the C to switch onto the PG above the key and past the 3 point line as often as it is happening in recent games. If what you say is true, CRB must really like how it is working and allowing opponents to score and draw fouls. It is my understanding that most teach to fight through the screen while the C slows the advance and then drops back to cover his man.

Today they were hedging on all ball screens, it's not a switch. And yes the F is supposed to help on the post. This is an aggressive way to play ball screens, it runs the ball handler out of the play so he can't come off the screen and shoot the jumper or attack. Now late in the second half Florida started really attacking and we got exposed. It's a cat and mouse game

Somebody forgot to tell Fulky not to switch - for several games lately. I agree he is supposed to hedge to stop the move as you suggest, then drop back into the lane and his man. He is getting caught in a full switch 20 feet out and our G's are covering the C. Go back and watch. Both Vescovi and Bowden have been called for fouls after getting mugged lately. Once, Fulky did not even switch back when he had the ooportunity when the ball rotated away from him today. I watched Bowden staring at him like - dude...

That's not what Barnes teaches FWIW nor is it a called defense.

No one has done anything. Just taking a break but will leave you this last nugget for awhile. Ergen has been the catalyst in so much of the change. He is why Fulmer is in place and his value to the University has replace the other family. We are in very good hands.
Please drop in often!

Do not underestimate the value of a good assistant coach. Phil is in the HOF and was a lot better with Cut. Not saying everything has to do with Lanier but it has an impact. 4 guys going pro had a more profound impact and so did Turner's injury. However, losing Lanier didn't help as well.
Now all that I agree with, but I am pretty sure Rick Barnes is a great BB coach...this year don't mean isht to me...It has gone almost exactly the way I thought it would after Turner went down. I thought with him they were a bubble team...no chance without him.

8-4 is what we are going to be this year.
Bryce, Key, AT & Tank along with Theo & Flowers.

Toot, Crouch, Kiven & Roman along with stud freshmen.

Deepest d-line in the SEC.

Top o-line in the SEC, along with the #1 guard in the country.

Deandre Swift 2.0 in the backfield along with a 4.3 forty sidekick.

TWO legit 4.3/4.2 Henry Ruggs type frosh WR's. A guy in Keyton who his a better version of Marquez Callaway. A 3rd round pick in Palmer as WR1. A guy who could legit win the NBA dunk contest, oh who happens to only need one hand in the red zone. And another guy who is Cordaralle Patterson 2.0.

Not to mention a generational true frosh QB. The last three of those? See Tua, Trevor and Fields. Not to mention his prior connection with Keyton and the fact Wideman just gave him another Gilbert with A+ hands. 8-4? Good lord

There was a lot of action comparatively to other soccer games. Also, Nashville's kits look awful
Went to the game tonight and had a great time. For those not into soccer it, it is kind of like hockey, a lot more fun in person than on TV. About those kits, as the team calls them “Electric Gold”, yeah they are something. But hey I bought 2 jerseys tonight that color and several scarves and misc stuff.

JG is not very good. Bailey has great potential but is still an unknown. We play 4 top 10 teams.

This is some of the best news in a long time! We desperately needed “the other family” to be replaced by another power booster, in order to get everyone rowing in the same direction again. Hope you don’t step away for too long, @JacketVol. Always like reading your posts.

If we were able to pull two of the current 247 5 stars in our next class... (2021 Top Football Recruits)

Who would you prefer them to be?

For my money, give me:

and

We seem to be in on a number of those kids and obviously they'd all help. It's hard to keep Treveon Henderson off the list because I'm such a sucker for RB's (always been my favorite position. But deep down I know the biggest need we have is on defense, especially guys who can get to the quarterback. Considering we didn't really address that in this class, I think it'll be a glaring need when the '21 kids walk on campus.

Who you got?
