I agree with you. I felt CJP was more subdued as well, other than the chewing he have JG after the interception. One part of me hopes some of this was by design. I wonder if the very vanilla game plan causes players and coaches to take a more "going through the motions" mentality.Sooo...how does everyone feel about the game? I don't wan't to be critical about a game you win by 3 tds...but..we gotta do better than this to beat Mizzou or UK. I hope somebody turns the intensity switch back on.
Pruitt saying (according to the announcers) that JG is the best QB we have "By far" is nuts. Watching the team with him running it is like getting a root canal. It just always feels..like the team is trying to run in foot deep mud. I don't want to dump on him...but dang.
I hope he plays exactly the same way minus the one play which he wore that criticism well last night and I think he’s growing in that area.
Last night be checked down to 2-3rd receivers a few times to make key 3rd down conversations And I just don’t ever remember him being able to do that before.
Dude, he is still horrible. Held the ball, underthrew wide open guys, threw late, checked down for no reason a few times when he was staring at wide open receivers down field, still can't read defensive coverage shells, fumbled a handoff. Just a bad qb no matter how you slice it. Shrout got pulled for one bad play, JG had 7x as many bad plays and stayed in. Just odd how Pruitt manages qbs.
While I agree with you, we also have to remember that the flow of the game dictates sometimes what we need to do on offense. Obviously, if we had not created so many turnovers early with great field position and capitalized with field goals and a touchdown, then it is possible we may have been more aggressive with our play calling. However, with how our defense was playing, we didn’t need to be overly aggressive and allow momentum to change and let them back in the game. Pruitt showed last week that he was willing to open it up when we needed to. It may have been boring, but once we started creating so many turnovers, I liked the game plan. We won and kept everyone healthy, as well as we got some rest for a few who needed it.We need better red zone offense. 301 yards ain't going to cut it. The defense is playing really well but we can't count on 4 turnovers every game. That O efficiency last night was good for 10-13 points. That leaves us sitting at home during bowl season. I think we see somewhat better in offense than we showed. We have to find ways to get the ball to our playmakers in space.
no we were in the middle of GA fans in the 200 section. You would be able to spot me if they panned out the right way.Dude, I think I saw you on TV. There was one shot that I thought I saw a guy with a Tennessee hat on, and I think he was around a bunch of Florida fans. Were you sitting near the field just a few rows up?
He has his faults, like any coach. He seems to have fixed the defense. That goes a long way in my book.
A few bad reads and a bunch of late to non-existent throws due to hesitation is exactly what bogs the offense down though...it is excruciating to watch. He was adequate if you take away the red zone pick, which you can't. He had a few nice plays but also made some bad reads and was late on a few throws. He did move the sticks some but the offense had about 270 yards while he played. I hope Maurer is ready but if he's not, then I hope we get the good JG. He has had some flashes but that is the exception this year, and not the rule.
Who said they hate him? Saying he isn't good =/= hating him.He has that Group playing well. All the we the fans no better about JG talk is also not putting faith in Chaney. I thinks it’s time we stop the hate and trust this staff. If they make a bowl this will go done as one of hell of a comeback story and a kid playing with 7 staples in his wrist should be applauded not hated.
