Sooo...how does everyone feel about the game? I don't wan't to be critical about a game you win by 3 tds...but..we gotta do better than this to beat Mizzou or UK. I hope somebody turns the intensity switch back on.

Pruitt saying (according to the announcers) that JG is the best QB we have "By far" is nuts. Watching the team with him running it is like getting a root canal. It just always feels..like the team is trying to run in foot deep mud. I don't want to dump on him...but dang.
We need better red zone offense. 301 yards ain't going to cut it. The defense is playing really well but we can't count on 4 turnovers every game. That O efficiency last night was good for 10-13 points. That leaves us sitting at home during bowl season. I think we see somewhat better in offense than we showed. We have to find ways to get the ball to our playmakers in space.

@volatil None of this would have been possible without you and the staff at STR. Specifically you, since you were the one who posted it here first but then VN did what we do...we took care of our own when they were down. We did it for RichRollin, @chargervol and several others. That's what makes this board great.

What @Atlanta VOL did today was...I can't even describe. Holy crap y'all. Not only did he pitch in a TON for Ashlee, he gave me and my girls the best day I've ever had in Neyland. He's a helluva dude too. Super nice host, down to earth, good guy, great company, and made my family feel welcome. I'll never forget that.

AV, when we get the house built, you're getting an invite to the party that I'm throwing....might not rival yours but I can give it a shot. Plus, a good friend of mine is an award winning chef, I told him he has to cater....there will be a spread.

Anyway... I'll post more when I can, we just got home. Here isr Mrs. ob79 and my girls. Ashlee's the youngest.View attachment 235661
That’s awesome to hear brother, but I can’t cater your event. Sherpa Tennessee great looks great. Send up north ASAP. My Asian butt is freezing up here

Q. Dormady was 18-24 for 288 yds and 3 tds today. Good to see him finally having some success. CMU is 6-4 and bowl eligible. He has bounced around, but looks like he has found a home.
Would have much rather had him stay than the the late delivery crybaby we have

I rarely take issue with announcers, but if you can’t look through the roster of starters and work through your pronunciation before the game, that’s a bad look. It was at least 12 occurrences for JG.
The other guy would say JG'S name every couple of minutes to help him out but guy would double down lol.

Ok bottom line is we win 2/3 and Pruitt saved the season!

Let ride with JG he’s one tough son of a gun and he’s even starting to pick up some key third down throws on check downs. Eliminate the one awful throw and he was good tonight.

OL tonight was your wake up call. We can’t get to a bowl game playing like that

Let’s go beat the Cats!!!!
He was adequate if you take away the red zone pick, which you can't. He had a few nice plays but also made some bad reads and was late on a few throws. He did move the sticks some but the offense had about 270 yards while he played. I hope Maurer is ready but if he's not, then I hope we get the good JG. He has had some flashes but that is the exception this year, and not the rule.

Sucks getting old. Been experiencing discomfort and some pain in my left hip region for better part of the last 16 mos or so. Finally went to see my Ortho specialist Wed. Got the news I was expecting. Left hip is bone rubbing bone. No cartilage left ., Scheduled a hip replacement for January. Just got to get thru the holidays.

I think the plan is obvious and JG said as much last night. I am surprised no one that I have seen has mentioned it here.

It’s clear to me that Pruitt is using JG the same way a hoops coach uses a 6th man. It’s allows that person to settle their nerves by watching. Let’s them sit a short time and they are in. For whatever reason we know JG is mentally weak and this is working for him. JG said last night after the game that This has been the plan all along since the ga game and that Pruitt has relayed that to him.

Pretty clear to me JG is going to play a lot of huge snaps in Lexington and that’s Pruitts plan.

Even though uk had a bye this week, i don't see them beating us with a 1-dimensional team.

Missouri is free falling after losing to Vanderbilt and Kentucky. Their next two games are at Georgia and against Florida. Then us and a cupcake to get their 6th win, even though bowl is not an option for them.

Then Vandy.

7-5

With this defense And special teams...and a half decent performance from the offense.

Glad to see the turnaround after weeks 1 & 2.
Maybe the refs will get a note from the conference office to make sure we win at Missouri to get that bowl game money.

Wait, never mind, it's us and the office is still in Birmingham.

You're probably right. I agree JG seems better when he doesn't start and the game plan was good last night. Winning by 23 is testament to that. I just hope he plays better against UK than he did tonight.

The only positive message I am getting from Pruitt continuing to trot JG out there is that he doesn't give up on him. Which is then countered by the fact that if you are a freshman who was recruited/signed by him, are still learning how to play at this level, and if you make a mistake you sit until it doesn't matter anymore. If you are an incompetent JG, you get chewed and trotted back out there.

Hope to get to a bowl, but I'm not counting on anything. Pruitt is gonna Pruitt and he don't care what any of us think.

So I went to the UGA vs FL game yesterday... I wore an orange Tennessee hat. And the people I was tailgating with were UGA boosters... one of which was yelling "look at this ugly ass hat" when the UGA marching band was walking by. They all went to heckle until I said "IF ANYONE WANTS TO KNOW HOW TO BEAT SOUTH CAROLINA, WE HAVE AN EXTRA CHAIR AND I'LL BE TAKING QUESTIONS."
Winning.

I hope they play Brian Maurer during these important SEC games. I give him and Shrout more credit because we have had three years of JG and barely won anything till we tried new quarterbacks.

I hope he plays exactly the same way minus the one play which he wore that criticism well last night and I think he’s growing in that area.
Last night be checked down to 2-3rd receivers a few times to make key 3rd down conversations And I just don’t ever remember him being able to do that before.

Dude, I think I saw you on TV. There was one shot that I thought I saw a guy with a Tennessee hat on, and I think he was around a bunch of Florida fans. Were you sitting near the field just a few rows up?

Yeah I'm fully expecting Guarantano to get plenty of clock the rest of the season. Could be wrong but for some reason I get the feeling that Pruitt isn't that high on Maurer or Shrout.

Oddly I feel pretty good. As I said in the game thread, while taking into account the results of the last month in addition to last night’s game, it feels like the scheme on both sides of the ball has really set in with the players. I think it is especially so on the defensive end.

We weren’t sharp last night but UAB is a good CUSA team and very well coached. We beat them the way a good “sleepwalking” team should.

JT went something like 7 of 11 for 122 yds last week and where did that get him. PULLED after one series that he ran 2 plays and passed one. I do not like Pruitts stunts. The kid deserved better after last weeks play. I mean that game was against SC and tonight UAB. Why on earth pull the kid when he needs all the game experience he can get. Pruitt has to be hit over the head with something before he sees the light. He is Hard Headed. Should have rewarded the kid for his play last week instead of pulling him.
Like I said in another thread, he almost chokes to have to say something encouraging about JT or Maurer.
I'm not as pissed at Pruitt as you obviously are...like chargervol said last night, there has to be something going on in practice that we do not see that causes JP to have this complete lack of trust in Shrout. I don't feel like there is a trust issue like that with Maurer...I think he was just being cautious with him last night.

JG was late or very innnacurate on almost every throw, even the completions. It is infuriating to watch because you can feel that hesitation almost every freakin time he drops back...🤦‍♂️
