Unfortunately you're probably right. Just a certain irony in selfishness being one of the fan's biggest complaints, followed by them putting their need to be heard over what's best for the team.
Now that seems like a simple concept but the irony will probably never even be noticed by some.
yep.

Oh it's definitely not just us, doesn't make it any better tho. Organized tweets or not, I believe the players have thrived off of fan support this year.

They all do social media, everyone knows the sentiment towards JG. Want to really make an impact, show them the support even outweighs personal grievance. They would absolutely feed off of that.

Wishful thinking? Yeah probably. But if enough feel the same way, maybe they help drown out the me first crowd.
this.

I want to know whether in the black type on the page (so to speak) Ubblah explicitly quotes or paraphrases them as saying these three things. NOT leaving it to the reader to assume something absolutely decisive that he (Ubblahboo) omitted.
Pane, here's the link:
Could Brian Maurer play Saturday after another concussion?

The doctors that he is speaking to are talking in hypotheticals because they are not treating BM. They do not know whether BM had 1,2, or 0 concussions. In my opinion, Ubben wrote this article because a lot of people are wondering what the likelihood that BM plays under the possibilities we consider with the knowledge that we have (he's been taken out of 2 straight games for fear of concussion). He's not trying to smear Pruitt if he plays him on Saturday. The article makes it clear with that Pruitt does not make those decisions. He listens to the medical team.

The Ubben bashing on here has really gotten out of hand. While he may post a snarky tweet from time to time or say something dickish on the podcast, that attitude does not come through in his articles. I've been a journalist and read a lot of sports writing. He's the best beat writer we have in terms of writing skills, understanding the game with nuance, and pitching interesting football/football-adjacent stories (like the barber shop story from last week). He puts Rucker to shame.

Muschamp didn’t show the world how to defend him as you said when he went 27/39 for 207, 2 TDs, zero Picks and no fumbles.

If he does that this Saturday we will win easily
What did he do in the 4th quarter when they quit playing soft shell coverage and took away underneath and the flats

Exactly how I feel. I’m done with JG. We know he is a loser. We know he makes catastrophic mistakes and he seems to always make big mistakes when the game is on the line. He is the sole reason for us being 2-5 instead of 4-3 (at least). I don’t feel like wasting my time going to a game where I know my QB will lose the game for us. Pruitt has built up a lot of equity with me the last few weeks. If he continues to play JG and we go 3-9 or 4-8, he will probably lose that equity. I would most certainly be ok with losing if he at least tried Shrout for a game or two and even let JJ get a shot.

I’m teetering between 1000% and 1001% sure that Pruitt will play whomever he believes will give us the best chance to win, regardless of how the fans feel.

He sucks at a high level. Double or triple up your subscription. Lot of us ain’t buying his troll garbage.

Lol

So a guy that never takes chances with the ball is now all of a sudden a selfish hero seeking loser according to VN?

You know if he was selfishly after being a hero he’d sure as hell try to put the ball into more tight windows down the field.

Smh at the ignorant takes by many posters around here.

I agree with you. I don't know why fans do this to their own. Why can't we leave it at "he's a bad qb", "hope he doesn't see the field again ", "he ain't got what it takes", etc. Why do we have to personally insult our own this way. This isn't the first time we've done this to our players or coaches. I've read here ridiculous comments like "he's the worst qb in the history of cfb', "the worst in the SEC', "he's a program destroyer", or something like that, "I hate him", "I'd like to fight him", and probably worse.

I thought (hoped) he was done here, and maybe he stills is, but whoever the coaches choose to run out there I will support. The personal attacks and huge exaggerations are a bit much.

As usual he wasn’t able to take his team and win the game for them. He’s never going to do that. Not last year never

But last years performance at least shows he was able to manage the offense properly against a Muschamp D. That can win this game this week

Well said

Let's start Shrout and see how it goes. Shrout has not been getting first team reps in the past. He possibly gets that opportunity now. Next man up. JG has three seasons of first team reps/games and still looks the same. Want to see BM back up if he gets cleared.

Wish we could cut the narrative in here. JG went rogue. Stupidity, selfishness, whatever - it really doesn't matter. He should sit the rest of the season or move on.

I get all of the “it’s a matter of principle” talk. However, I disagree. Pruitt and staff owes it to every kid on the team, every coach / their families, the University, and the fan base, to play the QB who gives you the best chance to win. Period.

The ultimate “principle” is winning.
JG committed no crime, violated no person, and has been a model citizen from outside observation. If you want to be principled, start with removing every player who has been a bad citizen.
