We've been saying that for several years and yet we still can't lure an experienced coach. We've give both the last two coaches more than enough time.

And yet no coach wanted the job after we fired Butch. Then if you fire another coach after 2 years they ain't coming without the chance for at least 4 years to rebuild they're not coming.

1. Because every single win matters for Pruitt’s career now. His clock started last week, and was probably accelerated this week. He is not in a position to be cavalier with wins at the expense of 4 years from now.

He's got year 3, period. Fulmer put all his chips into this basket when he paid Chaney & Barnes, the university is likely not going to eat the buyouts when they can just let this staff bring in SEC level players and mold them.

I’m pretty ticked we didn’t kick that FG and take the 3 points.

It was late enough to take the points and force them to score a TD.

I don't know why people are JCD'ing the coaches on this. Our playcalling was insanely predictable in the 2nd half. We left a ton of points on the field. JG is WORSE this year than last year. Not kicking the FG and going up 6 was enormous as well. There is plenty of blame on coaching. We planned 2 winnable games against a ****ing awful team in Ga State and a very average team in BYU and are 0-2. At the end of the day, we are what our record is, and 0-2 is ****ing unacceptable. Even Dooley and Butch were never 0-2.

Would it be the best thing for the program? Probably not. But I think it’s in his head now.

I never said fire Pruitt. I said he would never make it and he won't. Has the program improved since he got here? No. We are probably the worst team in Tennessee history. We'll be fortunate to win our last two OOC games. He will not survive past next season.

Also, The run plays was predictable but they also had 300+ on the ground tonight so

JG couldn’t convert on 3rd down. That’s what killed us. It’s not on coaches.

He should be but He had his chance and couldn’t get it done, (spurrier and saban owned him and he **** away a championship opportunity in the sec championship game) The game passed him by. Phil could make this worse if he wants too so he needs to just shut up and support Pruitt.

I’m sick and damn tired of waiting... this program has asked us to wait since they fired Fulmer... it’s time for some damn results and I don’t think that’s too much to ask for. Other schools have turned things around in way less time.

We win last year against Auburn and Kentucky with Pruitt. I know there's been a ton of terrible stuff. A lot i blame on freshman inexperience.

Idk how, but the JG from those 2 games has vanished. Our units are actually better everywhere except the DL, but the new guys are showing a lot of flashes. Put Mauer out there and let him go. JG has become Worley/Peterman.

Only way forward is to put one of the freshmen out there.

You have to for recruiting and the future of the team.

Get another stud HS QB, grad transfer QB, whatever we need. Let them all compete for it next year. HB can come in and win the job in week 1.

Here's the thing that sucks. I think Pruitt will be a great head coach someday. He's learning on the job, though, and teachable moments come in the form of costly/heartbreaking mistakes that cost us games. By the time he has learned his most important lessons as a head coach, he'll be getting fired.

Oh I agree he’s not getting fired this year, but if he can even manage 5-7(!!!!!) this year, he can probably get all of next year to see what happens. If we are 3-9 or 2-10, he will be on “relieved of duties” watch after every loss next year, even in September.

Especially since now, 5-7 means a couple of SEC wins. Again, he can’t be cavalier with ANY win at this point.

It’s just time to accept we will never be elite again. For whatever reason everyone else in the country can bounce back and we can’t even beat Ga St and BYU. We haven’t even started SEC play.... it’s going to get way worse. If we are lucky we will be 1-7 to start the season. It’s over guys. Pruitt and this staff aren’t the answer. They may be good coaches but they aren’t going to get it done here. Plenty of other people would have had us 2-0.

Looking for likes. So dramatic saying we will never be elite again. Defeatist attitude.

Lobbing 50/50 balls to JJ and Palmer was always fool’s gold. Saw right through that “stat line.”
