If he is leaving he's lying to all his recruits, his assistant coaches, and all the kids he's spoken to in the past few days.

When he was leaving Florida he told all the kids he was recruiting he was leaving, and all the coaches knew as well.

I think he's staying sadly, he's not one to mislead kids.

You make him sound like some king of saint. lol Leaving a DC position to become a head coach is not the same situation as leaving as a head coach to be a head coach for another school. In the first situation, you tell everybody. In the second situation, you tell nobody.

Good point its easier for recruits, players, admin, etc to understand a coordinator leave for a hc position... not so much when you leave a hc postion for another, its a delicate situation not one I would envy being in either... Especially having to tell a team full of guys you have pretty much been with as much as anybody over the last 3 years you are leaving...

I thought the notion is you don't fire someone unless you have a replacement lined up. Works in theory I guess.

I realize that Hart would avoid the appearance of looking around before letting go of Dooley. But the man should have done everything else short of that.

I disagree there. Top 30 schedule isnt considered soft. Like I said the difference was mainly one team.

UF gave up over 100 yards 6 times this year including Bowling Green, Vandy, and Kentucky. Thats far from being elite against the run. Bama gave up 100 yards in 3 games and that was against good teams. Not even a comparison to be honest. The last 2 elite defenses we saw were last year (Bama/LSU).

6? what six..BG, UGa, A&M KY and FSU and in the KY and FSU game those yard to get to 100+ came in the 4th when the game was over and subs were in. UF only allowed 1 100 yd rusher this season...Todd Gurley.

Just think about this ...

We will have a Very Legit shot at landing 5 of the top 50 rated players in the country.

I really believe Strong would bring us back to national prominence and competing for championships. I just feel like it's our luck that he stays at UofL..too good to be true.

B/c so far IMO Hart has ran a terrible search that all started w/ him no squashing the Gruden thing from the beginning to his #1 choice rumored to being Fisher to only find out Fisher is staying at FSU to then sitting around waiting over a week to start conducting actual interviews ect...

Plus, this is Tennessee, over the past 4 years what can go wrong has went wrong, it's felt like were cursed or something.

Have you ever thought that this is what has been "planned" the whole time? Do you not think that it's strange Hart has been awfully cool throughout this entire process, yet Arky splashed with a huge hire yesterday? I like all of you guys in the recruiting forum, and I can't wait for this to be over, so that when I get on VN, I can head straight over here. However, maybe it is time for some of you to start listening to some of the things that have been said in the Gruden thread. The groundwork laid out by the OGs in the first 2 threads about what would take place as the time got closer is happening to a T. They said the situation would look bleak, but it had to be made to look this way, so that Hart would get credit for the hire. Otherwise, Hart doesn't get to beat his chest, because everyone would know that it was really a hire made by the big money guys.

Is the situation starting to look bleak enough for everyone here? It sure is for me. If the info is wrong, then so be it...I sure hope that it isn't, because if it is, then we are hiring a lame duck coach and will continue in mediocrity, unless Hart has a HR hire that we haven't even mentioned (as Arky did). Flame away and call me an idiot for posting this, but I think it is time some of you who want to bash the Gruden talk as idiotic should start opening your eyes a little bit. If Strong announces he is staying at Louisville, then that will confirm everything I have read and I will be 100% convinced it's Gruden. Everyone in this thread knows that Strong wants this job...BAD!!!

not 1 100 yard rusher. Rushing total as a team in those games. The person I was actually talking to knows what I was saying.

If Hart misses on Strong, he better have the most spectacular plan ever. Because the way he's going about this is very unnerving.

Hart may choose to pass on Strong. If Strong is not hired, it may not be Strong's choice. Hart could very well give him time to say he has decided to stay at Louisville.

Hart has ran a tight lip coaching search that has been full of rumors and smokescreens.

We don't know who Hart has or has not pursued, talked to or offered.
