Tired of reading all this. Had enough. Thought the Vols may get someone tonight. Thanks to everyone who posted updates.
Hopefully someone gets appointed tomorrow. Good night.

Now I lay me down to sleep - Gundy or L-Fed would make me weep.
How much more search can I take - May be Strong when I awake.

Tomorrow is going to be interesting. Who knows who it's going to be at this point. My logic is that a couple of the UL guys have been dead wrong about the situation so far. Skeeter hasn't said a whole lot during the search other than the AD hasn't heard anything other than the names of the candidates. Today, he basically implicated that Strong was ours barring some crazy fiasco. Finally, if there is a UL team meeting tomorrow, that's pretty telling. A coach does not call a team meeting to say he turned down an offer and that he's staying. JMO.

The postponement of the public appearance for players tommorrow which is on their official website tells me a lot.

Is there any other explanation for it being moved that protecting their players from having to make a public appearance on the day their coach leaves??

Could they have moved it in anticipation of him leaving? But, I stll remember Bobby Cremins doing a presser to go to South Carolina and then staying at Tech the next day. So, they may have moved it in case he leaves. However, he could still stay and will let them know that in the meeting. I am not sure CCS knows for sure what he is going to do.

On the other hand, if he backs out and stays, it may be a very long time before anyone in the SEC would negotiate with him again. He will be staying for a long time or getting fired one day in the future.

If we were to bring in Mangino, I wouldn't mind bringing his son in some capacity as well. He impressed me in the few games games I saw him as O coordinator at Hutchinson.

I would normally say that cooler heads win the day, but Hart needs to pull the trigger fast, like tomorrow. Many coaches and media members said that TN was the best job available and to stand by while 5 other teams make a hire and sure up recruits, while you get publicly denied is not acceptable. If he lands Strong tomorrow then all is well, but if he screws around for another week, while 3 or 4 other coaches that are rumored to be done end up staying where they are, before finally settling for a Sonny Dikes, then we may never rise above 6th in the east in our lifetimes. Rant over. Hopefully he gets our man tomorrow.

I think we are good don't want to announce it on the night of Fulmers hof... Plus I don't think I have ever seen a school come out and say flat out I think our coach is likely to leave I think the rumors of him leaving picked up and they felt they needed to say something... JMO though
