I would want it in blood. I do not want any "searches" because someone backs out.

Not sure Id go as far as blood.:)

Most reputable coaches are not gonna get real specific until the job is open. I guess there is some gray area if you have told your target that the standing coach is fired, but that can get tricky with your current coach.

You can get up to a point where some coaches are not gonna cross that line out of professional courtesy.

My obsession with Tennessee football is seriously affecting my life negatively. I am just sitting around, refreshing the page repeatedly. I'm thinking, this has to change.

Nick, It's going to...In a good way...If what I've heard is true then a lot of people are going to be very happy shortly

At this point, I do not expect any new commitments any time soon. Also, it will be important to watch whether our current commitments begin to take official visits elsewhere. If/when Dooley is replaced, I expect the new HC to be able to keep most, if not all, of the commitments he wants. Dooley and Co. did a good job recruiting kids to the University of Tennessee and not a particular coach.

Cleveland would be crazy to come get Saban. He's not a good NFL coach. That's been proven and a guy like Gruden is the reason he had to come back to college. He's a better recruiter than coach to me.

Saban would be crazy to take that job. His desire to work with kids and determine who is actually on the team with recruiting is his reason for coming back. He has no desire to go back so it really doesnt matter. Great talent helps but he has also proven to be a great coach by maximizing that talent and getting them to play at a high level. Alot of coaches dont have that ability (Chizik, etc.)

I still think if Saban was really good at maximizing his talent the Miami experience would have been better. Saban out recruits everybody, and oversigns and cuts scholarships to keep the roster full. It is what it is. He's a good coach and his defensive schemes are top notch, but he is a recruiter first and foremost. His teams are better than the opponent at every position on the field.

I strongly suggest Dooley practice a little bit of that himself. JMHO. If he wants to win next year, he needs to go without the players that can't cut it in this league.

Miliner is the best DB Saban has had down at Bama. Those other guys never had to face a Tyler Bray led squad. However it won't matter today. Our offense is going to punish them. Our defense will hell I don't know hopefully step up for the win today. We hold them under 30 we'll win this game today. They won't stop this offense all day.

STICKLY RUMOR

Burning up AU boards, including some folks I generally find sensible, is rumor that Mike Slive has decided Petrino isn't a good fit for the SEC. Further, he has let Auburn, Tennessee, and Kentucky know that he'd rather them NOT hire Petrino for any head coaching vacancy.

Oh wow..... you really think Bama's defense should've stopped this offense? I stay in Alabama and the fans here didn't believe they would stop us and said Dooley and crew are a let down.

They ask me why #84 doesn't get 12-20 touches a game. I just shake my head at it. They even say he's better than Julio. But you know it just shows you what kind of coach we have.

I'm just wondering how can you not have a team UP for it's No.1 rivalry game all year. I saw two players just balling out for our team(Patterson and Sentimore). The others should've matched that intensity. But we've got a coach that's soft and I'm tired of it.

I don't think soft is the right word.

I don't think Dooley shows enough fire and passion. When it comes down to it, Dooley is pretty hard-nosed and demands a lot out of players. However, he doesn't show it. I'm not for a coach acting like a clown on the sidelines, but I want to see passion. I haven't seen it from Dooley in a while.

I just had a thought. CDD is kinda like George W. Bush for me. I like the guy and think he'd be great to hang out with or as an uncle, but I'm not sure I want him running my country/program. Not trying to be political.

IMO, you guys are reaching. Preparation is done during the week. Many have won championships while having a perceived stoic nature. The fact of the matter is that we just haven't been getting the job done. Hell, Sal shows passion and toughness every week and we see those results. The same was said about Wilcox and he gets results.

Plain and simply the product we have put on the field just hasn't been up to par.
