Nope, still making things up as that does not necessarily mean that he is a "lazy recruiter" as it could just be that he sees better uses of his time to improve the team especially seeing how high school and college football season are at the same time.
Apparently my attempt to provide information to the football/chaos forum turned into a d!ck measuring contest. Anyway, it's true, I've been told an offer of 6-years $31.5 is on the table. Hart has been in touch with Gruden's agent, Lamonte. I've been told that this is the first number put on the table by UT. Seems like it's a strong offer and shows UT is serious about Gruden. Also, this is the first I've heard that Dooley is a lame duck.
Please explain to me exactly how he has improved the team?
And the likes of Nick Saban, Mark Richt, Urban Meyer, and Will Muschamp can find the time to go on the road recruiting during the season and still "improve" their teams
Where did I say that it actually ended up working out? I just stated that it is absurd to take one small thing which he may not do just because he finds other things more important, and jump to the conclusion that he is a lazy recruiter.

Is that a formal offer or a number to gauge interest?
I have a hard time believing Hart has officially offered when the job is not officially open.
I would buy that numbers have been thrown around and they know where they need to be. Im just not sure how Hart can get involved when Dooley is still employed.
Hart is a smart man. Whoever gets the job, if anyone, will be a done deal before Dooley is gone. We don't want to be turned down publicly like last time. It was very embarrassing.
Did anyone else hear this exchange on MNF?
Mike Tirico said "It is good to have Coach Gruden with us at least for the time being." Gruden said "I'm very excited."
Go Vols!
Why do people not like Smart? Saban promoted Smart to DC and has done everything to keep Smart as his DC (has successfully done so for five years). Dooley was never promoted to a coordinators role. Smart will be a great head coach...either for UT or UGA.
I think there is a gray area where you can have something in principle agreed to (more than likely handled by a third party, not Hart directly), I don't see a formal offer being on the table until the job is open. I think Hart understands what he can and can't do. Im sure he has handled this professionally.
I personally just talked to 2 men who have/will donate 2.5 million to the university. That is just 2 guys putting 5 million together, think of all the other boosters that will donate to the coache's' salaries. I asked them if they had heard any names being mentioned and they said Gruden... it was a short quick response. They said there was going to be a boosters meeting either next week or week after.
