My friends and I invented our own baseball game called "Pick"

We had a coffee cans filled with small pieces of paper...........with S,D,T, HR, SO,FO,GO,GO(DP)
We looked up the average/percentage of every at bat in the majors. What % was a single, double, fly out, ground out, etc.............We put that % of each on a small piece of paper in the coffee can.
We made our own teams via a draft.
We had 4 starting pitchers and 3 relivers and players at each position.
There were 6 of us and we had a schedule and kept stats of our players.
Each one of us had cards of the players on their team............We set our line up and turned over the card after their at-bat.

Fun days...............
Sounds like a great game to be played under the street lights. We were truly blessed to have lived in those times. Simpler ways and more face to face interaction with friends. Feel sorry for kids today.

Roman, the little kitten we rescued from the road goes for his 5 week appointment tomorrow. His eyes are clear, his energy level is through the roof. So much so that I've given him the nickname "crack kitten" the dude never stops, he's 100mph all the time.

I expect he'll be given the all clear. He has bonded to our most recent feral cat that adopted us a year and a half ago. I've been pleasantly surprised this feral grown cat would be so careful with his little play mate.

We Had someone drop off a few roosters near our house this week. That is common it seems we've got the reputation of people that take in the unwanted. Yes it's inconvenient, but life is life, it all matters. So we roll with it. We literally have about 27 free range roosters we corral into various coops at night.

I'll wait to tell you our story, why we had to give up the official rescue farm and just keep the status quo and help what we can. I'm in my feels tonight and would come completely apart. But I will say this........ Volunteer at your local shelters, walk dogs, read to them, play with the cats. Get them used to people, it can get them adopted. If you own some land do the research, learn about farm animals, if your local rescues take in neglected or unwanted animals offer them a permanent home if you can.

Since COVID and inflation many rescues have stopped taking in, those that haven't are struggling. Donate locally, network..... Offer whatever resources you can. Buy them gift cards, donate food. If you've ever loved an animal along the way in your life honor them by volunteering, by donating, by giving, even an encouraging word.
From all of your posts, y’all seem to be special people. As I’ve said before, we can help you via GoFundMe. I know I would and most on here that can would love to help. Just let us know 🧡🧡🧡🧡.

He isnt tall, but he aint short. 5'7", is def short. Tom Cruise.
Hey, I like the guy...actor...not the diver. Dude makes good flicks and certainly has a way with the ladies. As for Cruise, he was a lousy Reacher. The big dude in the TV series is a way better fit to the books. Cruise...meh. Pipsqueak.

Cruise is actually, sigh, kind of a badass. He does ALL his own stunts. I hope I am in half that good a shape when i'm that age. Pretty good actor. But yes, reacher is Alan Ritchson.

Funny story here, my buddy caught a speckled seatrout and lipped it and my son yelled at him to not do that! That's a bammer fish, look at that one big tooth in the top of his mouth. We all just lost it. But he wore us out, he caught the most and absolutely can't wait to go again next year.
Is that little 821? Kudos for bringing him up right with that hat.

One of the best places on earth. I hope it’s not overrun with tourists now.
Used to love it. Are the oyster beds still closed off? They did that a while back to help them get reestablished so the oysters you got were brought in from LA/TX. Not as good and smaller. There was one restaurant next to a bait shop that we loved going to. It was sold and the new owners didn't keep it up. Bad food and bad service. Last time I was there, the only decent place to east was Paddy's and the pizza joint. Been several years since I've been back so maybe things are better?
