Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I have 4 Rookie Rickey Henderson cards..............$150 K each in mint condition.....mine are not.
pisses me off that I never took care of those cards
I had an old ping pong ball basketball game and on the back side of the cardboard that held the goal, I'd put some of my favorite players on that game. Was a big Milwaukee Bucks fan then so it was a no brainer to honor the Big O and Lew Alcindor. Problem was that I used....gulp...glue.

Yep. Had cards glued to the backside of both goals. Thankfully, my mother didn't throw anything away so I still have all my comics and cards from back in the day. Got a lot of 60's and 70's cards....chewed a lot of gum back then. Got several complete sets from those days, too.....football and basketball. Grandkids are gonna get 'em. Two cards that I always lusted after were the rookie cards for Dr. J and Dick Butkus. Gawd, I wanted that Butkus card.

Man, we had some real "hi tech" back then. Non-stop action.

My friends and I invented our own baseball game called "Pick"

We had a coffee cans filled with small pieces of paper...........with S,D,T, HR, SO,FO,GO,GO(DP)
We looked up the average/percentage of every at bat in the majors. What % was a single, double, fly out, ground out, etc.............We put that % of each on a small piece of paper in the coffee can.
We made our own teams via a draft.
We had 4 starting pitchers and 3 relivers and players at each position.
There were 6 of us and we had a schedule and kept stats of our players.
Each one of us had cards of the players on their team............We set our line up and turned over the card after their at-bat.

Fun days...............
