I miss the original Dairy BarYeah, and the spots that do it right I'm there often enough to be recognized. Oddly enough in our small town the spots that are good quality, priced well and locally owned are Mexican and Chinese spots.
We have 2 good coffee places too. But one of the newer restaurants that opened is more expensive than anywhere else and the food tasted microwaved/frozen at best sadly.
You too good for Walmart?
My local coffee shop was just ranked #2 in the world, so I have no complaints going local lol.Yeah, and the spots that do it right I'm there often enough to be recognized. Oddly enough in our small town the spots that are good quality, priced well and locally owned are Mexican and Chinese spots.

I disagree. I think this is the best we've looked in a while. We found a 3rd pitcher (Arvidson), maybe a 4th pitcher (Russell), Doyle is back, Fischer and Kilen are on fire, etc. We have a good shot.Same, but I just don't see it happening. They're playing well, it's at their pace, and we just don't seem to be firing on all cylinders right now.
We gave up quite a few runs the last couple days to be saying our pitching is solid... And our defense....I disagree. I think this is the best we've looked in a while. But ya, I disagree (not necessarily with you) that most local places fail because of big corporate. A lot of local places are horrific quality, and people insist on better now. Some chains have good quality standards and buying power (five guys, Freddy's, chickfila, Texas roadhouse, jersey Mike's, etc...).
In my experience, I've rarely seen a high quality local place go out of business. It's usually the places I didn't like.
Local hole in the wall places have always relied on a community that exists in and around the business. That's been true for my entire life.My local coffee shop was just ranked #2 in the world, so I have no complaints going local lol.
