Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Happy Sunday

May 25, 2025: You can do this; you can get through this challenging time. I will renew your strength and help you move forward, says the Lord, But, you must set your mind on where you are going and not on where you have been. You can arise to new heights both naturally and spiritually. You must believe to achieve. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thought that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Thinking about taking my son to a show soon, with my FiL. What are some good shows coming up in Murrville area?
Car shows?
I like they Townsend car shows. They're smaller and you can drive up to Middle Prong trail in about 5 mins, before or after the show, then eat at The Snoring Bear on the way back to marrvul.

Johnny had alcohol issues and had become mean as hell. It was never what it seemed, especially on campus where he’d alienated everyone including players. Johnny blamed Fulmer but Fulmer was one of a handful that stood up for him.
This is accurate. His embracement of and battle with the bottle were legendary. To blame Phil for the result of Johnny's antics is going down the wrong path.

He was human like all of us. Appreciate the good, forgive the bad.

My wife and I saw a small kitten barely miss getting hit on a country road I only took because the light on the route I normally take turned red.

The little thing barely made it. The person that almost hit it didn't stop. But I did, and searched the ditch it ran into. I found a small half blind kitten. A little boy with Respiratory and eye infection. Full of fleas.

We gave him two baths, rust colored water due to flea poop, and picked at least 30 fleas off him. I'd estimate he's 5-6 weeks. He's eaten half an Iams dual pack of wet kitten food and is currently sleeping next to my snoring wife. He's full, warm and feels safe. He's succumbed to exhaustion.

Taking him to our vet in the morning for meds he needs......... Looks like the universe decided we need another pet.
I’m hugging y’all in my heart. 🧔

Doing the Lords work. Congrats…..they usually turn out to ge the best pets.

My momma never liked Phil Fulmer. Majors fan forever.
Same for one of my grannies. She loved Majors and despised Phil. Even when UT football took the next step and Fulmer was flying high she never had a good word to say. She would talk your ear off on how we did Johnny wrong.

I’m just glad CJM was somewhat brought back into the fold. He lived too many tragedies—it’s no wonder that it left scars or that those wounds opened when he drank.

Any of you that want to go fishing or take a kid/grandkid, etc, but don't want to spend a fortune on stuff you might only use a couple times a year. . . Ollies has a Shakespeare spincast rod & reel for $9.99 and a zebco spinning combo rod/reel for $12.99 right now. It'll get the job done. They also have/had a 6 man Coleman tent for $20 šŸ‘€ šŸ‘€

I'd put some decent line on them though, maybe some spiderwire or something. Get some hooks for $1 and dig up some worms. I'd take a garden/hand shovel to dig more worms while you're fishing and you're good to go. Yall could be camping on a bank somewhere this summer for less than $40 šŸ‘€

Hey all, been a bit since I posted much but have been lurking and very excited about basketball and the future of football.

I recently received a job offer as a Roofing Account Manager (Sales). Very good benefits, great base, 10% commission on all gross sales, company truck after 100k in sales or 3 months (whichever is first). Boss is a super cool guy and overall range of their handful of guys is $185,000 (only guy under $200k) and highest guy was $317,000 last year. Rest in the 200s. This is considerably more than I currently make and potentially 100-150k more than I have ever made. Research I've done checks out and company had great reviews.

Is this too good to be true? I've always been a top performing sales rep and have a background with service industry sales (painting) where I was easily able to sell 1-1.5 million a year in projects and close around 65% of bids/proposals on jobs we actually wanted. I feel like I would be crazy to turn this down and the VN Recruiting Forum is the only logical place a moran goes for advice....T.I.A.

Also, I'm in the north Florida JAX metro area so we get tons of projects through insurance and sell all over. The company is family owned and the local area focus is a roof that can withstand hurricane force winds and has a 50 year warranty. It is very big among transplants and wealthier customers paying directly. This is another attractive aspect of the job as travel expectation is very minimal.
