Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Bird wasn't a defender, he was only good at shooting 3s when no one was guarding him.
That isn't true. If you want to know just ask the people that Bird played against. You couldn't stop him, he'd even tell you what he was going to do before he did it.

For sure some weird takes on Larry Bird

3x All-Defensive
3x MVP
2x Finals MVP
10x All-NBA
12x All Star
ROY
3x Champ

A career 49.6% FG, 37.6% 3PT, 88.6% FT those numbers should have him in the "greatest shooter of all time" debate...not acting like he couldn't play in today's game.

All that while playing in the same era as Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Dr. J, Kareem, Ewing, Robinson etc.

Bird was more than adequate at team defense (significantly better than magic). Most of his 3s were ill advised shots at the end of the clock. Sometimes he'd shoot it in someone's face to prove a point.

His prime athletecism is on par with the modern NBA average, and that was never what his game depended on.

Bird was a nasty dude and could play in any era.

Larry Bird was amazing, and he would be a star in any era of basketball. He just isn't the GOAT - that would be MJ.

The perv got a 6 year extension for $40 million+ . Golden have all those co-eds on E-Mail now...
Man, if Lane hears about this. Florida becomes his new destination job and he preemptively starts sending dick pics to FU coeds. He'll want out of Oxford bad, I mean they canned Freeze for just for a couple of hookers on the school dime.
Seriously FU has to be Deviant U. Mullen's wife, the water polo coach feeling up his players, Lap Dance Urban, Shark Humper, and God can only guess what Muschamp was into. Lane's true dream destination.

It's somewhat folly to try and name the one best player of all time in Sports. Though, Jordan can make a strong case. I'd still say someone like Magic has a great case as well in a different roll. Now, who is the GOAT in Football? Baseball? Soccer? Do we all agree that Tiger is the GOAT in golf?
