I think you are pining for something that never existed, a paneca. It has always been about the money. At its inception College Football was seen as a way to increase the stature of a school and improve enrollment ($). Players have been getting paid and the programs with the money had the advantages. Never in the history of the world has there been a situation where those with money don't have an advantage over those who don't. That's probably why everyone wants it.It will but I think it will be incredibly favorable to the schools with the richest boosters who love sports. Basically MLB which I think is pretty bad. I guess we could argue it’s better than favoring who the NCAA lets cheat the most. It’s basically capitalism so I get it but I would prefer we have true amateur sports in college and fully understand that’s a pipe dream. I tend to think people will care less and less as we chase the money. It’s also sad for other sports that are non revenue and it’s going to negatively impact a lot of young athletes. It will favor the few but I just think College sports should be different than professional. I understand that my view is outdated but I truly think this will end poorly. I’m not arguing with you specifically by the way.
That wasn’t Aguilar’s Fr season at App St. Went to Juco first. He’s a Sr this year.

Nico went from UT fan favorite to #1 enemy in less than a month. I'm so sick of the Iameleavas. I can't think of a higher profile family be this disruptive to our program.
that's part of itWhat is going on is the current framework of college sports was pieced together overtime due to forced changes and the result is a broken system.
What sucks is you know the color commentators are going to bring it up multiple times every game. Gonna be listening to Mike Keith with the tv mutedView attachment 737820

I remember my Military Science class in 94. It was full of athletes and other discerning students (including an incredible, blonde women's tennis player from Eastern EuropeKind of a shame, really. Everyone who has had a class with a Vols player at UT talks about it with happiness.
Of course, Nico would prolly be catching hell.
