Recruiting Football Talk VIII

The old man says nothing will happen if you stick your tongue to it.
😂

I gave one to my parents for Christmas. They're USB rechargeable and come charged. Dad looked it over and turned it on and messed with it. Mom said "let me see that" and dad handed her the racket part and zapped mom. She dropped and it zapped herself 3 more times before I could get it turned it off. She was fussing at dad and he said "why'd you do that for?". Good times. 🤣

Buddy we will have one of the best offensive lines in CFB this season. I think a lot of people are at least six months behind reality. Past performance is not an indicator of future results. The entire line has been revamped and upgraded. By November many will realize that.
Yep, and it’s a false narrative that last year’s OL sucked. You simply don’t lead the SEC in rushing when your OL sucks. Did they struggle in pass protection against elite defenses? Yes. Name a team that doesn’t. Nico also struggled to read defenses and make quick reads which exacerbated the problem. Not saying the OL was elite but it was absolutely above average. If a guy like Hooker was at the controls last year people would be claiming our OL was elite.

This is crazy...

2 QBs after their first year playing D1

63.7% 3757 passing yards, 33 TDs 10 INTs, 249 rushing yards 3 TDs
65.9% 2723 passing yards, 22 TDs 6 INTs, 132 rushing yards 1 TD

Both are 6'3" and 200lbs+

One got paid almost 4 million in NIL to play at Duke, One is Joey Aguilar....

I could just be playing overly optimistic fan here...but I think we got a potential steal of a deal in this whole exchange.

That wasn’t Aguilar’s Fr season at App St. Went to Juco first. He’s a Sr this year.

But I like all rhe other info in this post!

The OL was far from elite last year. It downright sucked at times.

Injuries were the main culprit, for sure.

If they can stay healthy this year they can’t help but be better. Time will tell.

Sampson made them better in the run game and Nico made them worse in the passing game.

The market will work itself out
It will but I think it will be incredibly favorable to the schools with the richest boosters who love sports. Basically MLB which I think is pretty bad. I guess we could argue it’s better than favoring who the NCAA lets cheat the most. It’s basically capitalism so I get it but I would prefer we have true amateur sports in college and fully understand that’s a pipe dream. I tend to think people will care less and less as we chase the money. It’s also sad for other sports that are non revenue and it’s going to negatively impact a lot of young athletes. It will favor the few but I just think College sports should be different than professional. I understand that my view is outdated but I truly think this will end poorly. I’m not arguing with you specifically by the way.

that was a movie, fictional movie. based on nothing.
Look around, there are a lot of things in today's world that are based in fiction and no base in reality. Trillions of dollars are spent without facts or basis in reality. Hell we couldn't have Washington D.C. iffin everything had to be based on fact.

I think you are pining for something that never existed, a paneca. It has always been about the money. At its inception College Football was seen as a way to increase the stature of a school and improve enrollment ($). Players have been getting paid and the programs with the money had the advantages. Never in the history of the world has there been a situation where those with money don't have an advantage over those who don't. That's probably why everyone wants it.

Oh damn...didn't realize he did 2 years at the JuCo level, I actually like him more knowing he's actually a 5th year guy and he's started 4 years already. Good experience and fully developed physically at this point.

Also this makes far more sense as why Heupel snagged him up so fast. Joey is a 1 year dude, ball out go to the draft and don't worry the young QBs on team & in next year's class (well except Jake wanting more $$$....but I get it likely now competing to be starting QB should for sure be making more than 40k)
