Last time I checked, run blocking and pass blocking were different. We are revising history since there were days and days on here discussing how bad our pass blocking was. Heard had some "ole'" blocks against OU and Arkansas.Nico only had 9 TD passes all year against SEC competition.
Offensive line was doodoo.....lol...yeah it's not like Sampson had the most rush yards ever in a season last year in Tennessee history.
That's about your third shot at UT fans... not sure that's where the blame lies right now.Yeah he's also 20 years old and being pressured by his entire Polynesian family.
Everyone on the team and the coaches love Nico.
But hey, I'm sure the redneckery that's ensuing is gonna do wonders for the program.
If you believe our tackles did well in pass blocking against OU and Arkansas, then I don't know what else to say. One on one blocks- not blitzes. The people saying the OL was doo doo are the same individuals that think when a QB isn’t a passing threat that defenses don’t start blitzing like crazy which is what they did and why Nico was to blame. Defenses had no fear of his ability to throw the ball down field and that was what made our OL not look good sometimes on passing plays.
He would almost never check down to the wide open short throw.
The UCLA info was from a USC board apparently. Their main insider said UCLA has a deal prepped for Nico and Madden to transfer over together.Nighthawk is the one who posted that, but it came from a guy in the Trilly Donovan discord who has consistently brought good info there. I’m sure some will doubt it, just as they did his report yesterday that Nico had been sitting out practices. The guy doesn’t miss.
He gone. BridgeContract negotiation rumors and now holding out of spring practice is a bold move from the supposed-to-be star QB who was supposedly all-in and had stepped up as a real leader.
Here's a major reason why its so bold: NIL. If you piss off the fanbase that's buying your autographs and jerseys they're gonna stop doing that. And if they stop doing that, you will (I assume) make less.
Either Nico is done at Tennessee or orchestrate a new contract and he returns.
If it's the latter, he better show out. Honeymoon is over. Marginal play will get him crucified after this.
it's dirty, but it's the rules of the game man. everyone keeps forgetting these guys had NO leverage, for decades. Is it right? No. Is it legal? Yes. Is it about to change in our favor, yes.Rumored it was to block any other QB from getting first team reps giving him more leverage. If that’s true that’s dirty. Which this whole situation is but that’s just low.
Ricky showed up to practice. Nico didn't. Ricky Gibson did it significantly better than Nico and more of a pro because of that. Nico is toast.Still not sure what the conclusion was with Ricky Gibson but,
It looks like its done with Nico and honestly glad the staff had the balls to draw the line. You don't get to hold your coaches ans teammates hostage for selfish reasons. You had your time to negotiate a contract and they made agreements.
Gerald Mincey tried this and was shown the door. As far as I'm aware, Gibson was shown the door. Now it looks like Nico will be shown the door unless the family backs down. But you can't mend whats been broken here: trust
Nico is done here. He's been done since the end of last year. The coaches knew it. They hoped they could salvage it. I wish he'd have left before the spring semester. I thought he had all the physical talent in the world but there was something missing, an intangible. I'm ready for a clean break. All my opinion.Contract negotiation rumors and now holding out of spring practice is a bold move from the supposed-to-be star QB who was supposedly all-in and had stepped up as a real leader.

Good for him then. That's professional way to handle it and the unselfish way. Also upon reflection I seem to remember that was more bad handlers speaking up and Gibson had to cool it himself.Ricky showed up to practice. Nico didn't. Ricky Gibson did it significantly better than Nico and more of a pro because of that. Nico is toast.
