Not overthinking it, this is the research. Probably about a decade old now, vague memory reading about it.
That said, we're talking 2 slightly different concepts and that's my bad for muddling.
1) Middle class kids are more often taught negotating skills at home, which then transfer to the real world as adults. This is where you get a class of folks that understand the game at hand and that rules aren't always definitive.
Otoh lower economic status children are more likely to be taught that "rules are rules" and to be obedient, rather than negotiating or being confrontational.
2) Yes, true and udder Karens are not clever. They just feel undeservingly entitled. That said, they did learn the game...unfortunately they took it to a stupid level that marginalizes other people. In fact, they became so bad at it, they became completely transparent to society as a whole.
