Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Not overthinking it, this is the research. Probably about a decade old now, vague memory reading about it.

That said, we're talking 2 slightly different concepts and that's my bad for muddling.

1) Middle class kids are more often taught negotating skills at home, which then transfer to the real world as adults. This is where you get a class of folks that understand the game at hand and that rules aren't always definitive.

Otoh lower economic status children are more likely to be taught that "rules are rules" and to be obedient, rather than negotiating or being confrontational.

2) Yes, true and udder Karens are not clever. They just feel undeservingly entitled. That said, they did learn the game...unfortunately they took it to a stupid level that marginalizes other people. In fact, they became so bad at it, they became completely transparent to society as a whole.
This is a ridiculous generalization. That’s either bad research or poor interpretation of the data.

Best case scenario: We get Barnes for at least 3 more seasons. He keeps killing it in the portal, we make the NCAA tournament each year. He retires as Tennessee's all-time winngest men's basketball coach and gives DW a full season's worth of advance notice that he's planning on hanging it up.

I think one of the most endearing things about baseball is that even as old as MLB is, there is still stuff that happens for the first time ever.

Yankees catcher homered to lead off the game today.

First lead off homer by a catcher in MLB history.

Edit:

Ok, I was wrong.

He’s the first Yankees catcher to hit a leadoff homer. Not nearly as interesting

Rodgers never takes the blame for anything, it's always the receiver ran the wrong route or the OL can't protect him. At least Favre knew he was a Gunslinger ...
Mine was in response to off-field controversy. Favre was a great teammate…Rodgers nowhere close Up to skipping mandatory mini-camp due to “a previously scheduled vacation”’just last season.
